So I used Acronis True Image for the first time. And as I was backing up the local drive on my laptop to an external hard drive, there was an error. The backup failed, but now, my external hard drive doesn't work. Whenever I try to access it I get the following error message:
    G:\ drive not accessible
The drive is corrupted and unreadable.

Is this fixable? I've never had this happen before until the first time I ran this program.

External hard drives can usually be sorted by :

Right Click My Computer > manage > device manager.

You may have to unallocate and reallocate rather than format to get it back though.

Device Manager claims the drive is working properly.

Can you elaborate on this allocation thing?

Is there a way to get back my data? I had over 1100 songs and 1000 pictures on that drive that I kind of want back. I'm thinking of giving GetDataBack a try, but if it does work, I'm scared to use Acronis True Image again as it was the reason my external drive crashed in the first place.
