    Hello:

I am using build 937. I imaged my "c" drive (I have a 100gig HD, "C" is 9.5 gigs, "D" is the remainder). The image was about 5 gigs. I set the program to verify the image. The whole process was supposed to take 27 minutes (in itself a long time to restore a relatively small image). It got to the last process (it had 3 operations), and then it slowed down greatly. It stayed at 12 minutes to go so long that I thought it froze up. Then for every minute it said it was going to take, it actuality took maybe 7-8 minutes.

So far, I have been extremely impress with TrueImage. I was using Drive Image 7, but it had a very difficult time with USB drives. True Image worked far better. However, Drive Image could have restored a 10 gig drive in maybe 15 minutes.

So, why so long with True Image? Thanks.

    Hello dpic,

Perhaps something in this previous post titled <Slow backup speed> will help.

    Hello dpic,

Thank you for choosing Acronis Disk Backup Software.

Please check each partition of your hard drives including external ones by Windows utility:

    - For Windows 9x please use Windows menu Start\Run
    then enter the command "scandskw" and test all drives;

    - For Windows XP please use Windows menu Start\Run, then enter the command
"chkdsk c: /r" "chkdsk d: /r" for every partition of your hard drives.

Please also download the latest version of Acronis drivers, install it with disabled logging and see if the problem still persists.

If the problem still persists then please provide me with the more detailed information on the problem.

Describe actions taken before the problem appears step-by-step.

Tell me if you have received any error messages. What exact error messages?

Where do you store your images?

What operating system is installed on your PC?

Tell me how much time does it take to create\restore\verify the image both from under Windows and when booted from the special Bootable Rescue CD.

Please also download and install the free trial version of Acronis True Image 9.0 and tell me how much time does it actually take to create\restore\verify the image using the trial version of Acronis True Image 9.0.

    Thank you.

Thanks Alexey for your response. Just to point out, I just purchased True Image from NewEgg on 9/2/05. Even though I purchased from an authorized retailer, I have been told I do not qualify for a free upgrade to version 9 because I didn't purchase from you. I don't think I'll try downloading the trail version of a program I am not welcome to use. It would only makes things more frustrating if it did work.

It might be caused by a hard disk problem. It used to take about 20min to create and restore image of a 15G drive on my computer, and one day the process suddenly slowed down to an hour and never recovered. The hard disk died within a week but now with the new one it's all fast and smooth again.
