    Acronis True Image v.8.0 (786)

Just restored a complete disk image to a new 80G HDD. Took image from a 40G HDD and My Computer shows my new HDD as a 40G drive. How do I open up the other half of the drive? Thanks.

Nevermind<g>. Just un-allotted space on the second half of the drive. Made it into a logical partition and all is well. Thanks.

During the setup for the restore you can resize the partition to fill the entire 80 GB drive if you want to. On the other hand, a second partition is useful.

    Hello tourtelot,

This previous post in the thread titled <Restoring Image to Larger HD> explains what you need to do in order to utilise the full capacity of a larger drive when restoring an image.

    Regards
