    Hi,

I just installed spybot and it found this ( see above) . I researched and it turned out to be a keylogger which really surprised me.how could this program have got on this computer?

  2. In your Spybot program.. click on excludes...then keylogger.sbi tab....then find" IamBigBrother:"

Next right click on those word and on the little menu left click on description of the product....

A window will popup and tell you all about it .

How you got it ...most likely some website.

should I change all my passwords ? and what about other info like credit card numbers ? i have a firewall - would that have prevented the cracker from entering my system and retrieving my data via bigbrother ?
and how to prevent this in future ? is there any software that will prevent any keyloggers from entering my computer?

what really surprised me about this ' iambigbrother' was that i had absolutely no idea that there was anything there.completely invisible.

For some reason i cant login...error message ?

That's always a good idea. Do it regularly as a standard precaution.
Check your statements weekly or more often when you're worried.
No, firewalls don't do this. You need a good Antivirus and Antitrojan
Wormguard from DCS comes to mind, as does TDS (same company) with their execution protection. BOClean from PSC too. Get yourself SpyBotSD and Adaware immediately! (Go to www.wilders.org for a bin load of free/pay/shareware downloads)
It depends where you went and what you did on the web. Some sites are good, some sites are bad, some sites are for sore eyes.
Damage. Clean up your machine and try again. Most likely a cookie problem.

*Do You Know Who Your Kids Talk to Online?*
IamBigBrother software download will secretly record all email, chat,
instant messages, keystrokes and more. Totally secret, instant download.

    AOL Link <http://fctrk.com/n.php?s=7892&p=985&b=3941>

Do your kids use Yahoo for email? We monitor it! See all incoming and
outgoing email for Yahoo, Hotmail, AOL web and more. Many programs
cannot record incoming web emails, like Hotmail or Yahoo. We do!
Additionally, the user cannot get around IamBigBrother by clearing cache
or history- it gets EVERYTHING as it happens...including PASSWORDS!

    AOL Link <http://fctrk.com/n.php?s=7892&p=985&b=3941>

Another useful feature is to let I am Big Brother capture the screen
when certain keywords are typed. If any of the words you setup are
typed, IamBigBrother will capture the whole screen and save it for later
viewing by the parent. This also works for offline programs too!

    AOL Link <http://fctrk.com/n.php?s=7892&p=985&b=3941>

As with all of our monitoring software, IamBigBrother runs in total
secrecy, and is very hard to find. IamBigBrother will not slow down your
computer, or do anything noticeable to the user. We test many of these,
and THIS is the best. You may wonder how you see the recorded
information if it is so hidden...all you do is enter your secret
password, and IamBigBrother will activate...but only for you!
IamBigBrother does NOT appear in the START menu, nor will it appear in
    the CTRL-ALT-DEL Task Manager.

So sorry, I keep putting things in the wrong place and forgetting stuff. Please forgive me. I really appreciate the contact, I just have to learn the rules.

I posted a reply to Big Brother item because I got some spam from a company trying to sell it to me. What I didn't do was note that fact on the reply, so, it looks like I was placing an ad for the thing.

I also put stuff in the wrong place last time I posted something.

Really sorry. I'll get better. :p

  9. I think you did great..welcome to the forum crkit1..the info made it here..and what if it end up at a totally different site..then they would not have found it.. ;)

Things get easy after a while and thanks for the added information.

i was on another thread and got referred to this one. a little surprised to see that this was my thread that i started.
also surprised to see that i didnt thank the people who answered. big thanks to checkout and others. guess i was shocked with the keylogger being on my computer.

so how have i done since that first post?
    well i became a little paranoid !!!

i have almost everything on my computer.
    antitrojan/3 antispywares/antivirus/firewall/proxomitron/spyware guard/spyware blaster/antikeyloggers/increased security settings/registry monitors/all updates/plus many more.

looking back to that time in 2002 i can now say it was good that it happened. ive read a lot about security on computers/whats happening in the wider world with computers and a lot more aware in general. if it wasnt for this i would be surfing the net whilst giving away all my personal information.

    need to add -

since 2002 i have not been affected by any virii/trojans/keyloggers. some spyware has entered the computer but nothing serious. ive also been trying to help friends with their computer problems.
ive been reading wilders for a long time as well. learnt a great deal. so many knowledgable posters here and all willing to share it. paranoid2000 special mention wow you are good. luv2besecure another great poster. and so many more. i can go on and on naming all of them.

    ill be around.

  15. I don't think wormguard would be that useful against keyloggers. Diamond's Processguard would be useful for preventive purposes. TDS-3, Spysweeper,Netcop etc would be pretty good scanners for keyloggers.

    Hi cad,

I'm pleased to tell you that BOClean completely gets rid of IamBigBrother. It's one of the best, if not the best AT software.
