Home now, so I had a look inside the Preferences but didn't find it. :doubt:
Maybe it's possible, so you could always look it up or ask at their forum. :)

Hope this helps a bit. ;)

No worries. It was pointed out to me by bigc73542 that I click on the reuse existing page button under pref.

I have only used Opera for about 2 months so am still learning but I found this site to be very helpful.

    Have a look.

    http://operalover.tntluoma.com/8/day_1_general_preferences

But ... errmm ... I have only read chapter Day 1 & 2 ... then I started setting and trying out everything without reading. (somehow I don't like reading manual ...) But so far so good and I have not messed up anything yet. Rather easy to understand really.

    :D

Ok, I have another one for you guys...

Is there a way to just minimize to the system tray? I see it on there while I surf, but when I minimize it, Opera just goes to the taskbar.

My ideal setting would be for me to exit opera, but leave it running in the system tray so I can click on it when I need to surf again. Any thoughts??

For me it minimizes to the Systray, but I'm running WindowsBlinds.
Easy to open it without restarting. :)
Of course like Ailric said it's a 3rd party app which does the job. ;)

how do you hold cookies with this browser? i admit i didn't try very hard at first, but now i have tried "use defaults for normal cookies" and everything else but, third party cookies. how do you have cookies configured for here? - Wilders. thanks

do you have third party cookies allowed for Wilders?

I normally change preferences to let the user decide, then visit all of the sites i visit regular that i know are safe such as this one and accept all of the cookies.

After i have been to all sites and logged on etc i then change preferences to
"normal cookies - treat as specified in server manager."
"Third party cookies to accept all".

Here is a button (look under "Various Other Buttons" - Hide Opera aka Boss Button): http://nontroppo.org/wiki/CustomButtons#various

Just drag the Hide Opera button (upward) to your toolbar.

thanks, i'll give it a go. so you mean you allow your trusted sites -
"normal cookies - treat as specified in server manager."
"Third party cookies to accept all"

oh, i don't understand it looks like i'll never login again. i'll never allow any site control of cookies (third party) i have had third party setup to accept cookies to the server it's self, and block all, but it still doesn't work. and i put Wilders in the cookie manager.

so the only way i can have cookies work here is to allow all third party? i know that's not right. I GIVE UP. :'(

Another way is to once again visit all of your safe sites and log in and save the cookies.
Close the browser, start it up again, check "delete new cookies when closing opera"
Then close the browser, start it up again, then all new cookies from your recent browsing session will be deleted every time you close opera.

    Hello People,

I am amazed by opera so far. I have a small problem at the moment, which I haven't been able to solve. I sign-in a page with a password, for example in yahoo-mail, or in a forum and then I sign out. Still, if I click the back button, it really takes me back in, without asking me for the password again. How one can deal with that (without closing opera and/or deleting all private data)? It doesn't happen in IE or Firefox,

    thanks.

in firefox ctrl + enter puts www. and .com around the address (e.g. yahoo), shift + enter puts www. and .net around it, and ctrl + shift + enter puts www. and .org around it.

does opera at least have an equivelent for the first shortcut?

I just go to the Help drop down box and check from there.

    Version 8.02
    Build 7680

    seems to be the latest.
