    Hi, Peter2150

I have tried my best to not post in this tread, Why oh Why do people keep asking or saying it should be closed, by closing it will only make some one start another, also for what reason should it be closed it is not a cause of offence. [Those who have posted posts deemed to offensive have had them removed]

I say closing this thread should led to closing...
The TDS Forum here at Wilders as there is no longer a TDS Product [free] and those who purchased it can use the Private TDS Forum. [now that would make some people Huff and Puff :D ]

With regards and respect to your opinion.

    Take Care,
    The Quest

I received quite a surprise when I came on this forum and saw TDS-3 was no longer supported. It would have been nice to have received an email or something.

I've been following the comments for a few days and my feelings have gone back and forth. I have received my moneys worth from TDS-3 so I don't feel ripped off but I do feel that I was misled. I was promised a free upgrade to the new version and I didn't get it. I feel Diamond has always operated reputably and have provided me with quick and helpful responses when I have emailed them with questions, but the fact is they didn't keep their word. Advance notice probably would have made a huge difference in my feelings and maybe I would feel different but it leaves a bad taste the way this happened. I already have the suite so I guess I won't receive any compensation.

I'm still waiting for my free license to Port Explorer.
I never got a reply when I sent my TDS-3 keyfile, got in touch via the sales link on their web site, they asked which one I wanted, told them and I've had no contact since.
It's been a few weeks now.

Not the best way to treat customers.

My thoughts exactly, if Diamond come out with another product I don't know if I could trust them enough for me to buy it.

I completely disagree. On what basis did you originally build your trust? In my opinion, you probably never really trusted them, so it's probably not such a great loss for you.

I've used all of their products for a while. They work great, and the support is next to none. While I don't 100% agree with their decision, and would probably have gone about it a different way, I always try to see both sides of a disagreement and can understand why they did what they did.

It takes a while for me to build trust in anyone, and it's going to take more than this to destroy it.

P.S. By the way Joliet. I see your from Scotland. Love that Laphroaig Scotch Whiskey!

Drop the e and you'll have the right stuff from the right country. :D

My point about trust is an important one and yes I did trust this company otherwise I would never have spent my money on their products.
It's simply not good enough to leave it to your customers to find out that their purchased product, an important security product at that, has been discontinued and that no updates were being done.
It took me a few weeks to find this out and in the meantime my security was compromised.

If this software was just some art prog it wouldn't be so bad, but it was a security prog.

As for the whisky, if you like Laphroaig, try Bowmore. :D

Now if you have speech enabled in TDS, in the bottom type
speak "As for the whisky, if you like Laphroaig, try Bowmore" and what more you like to add and hear it spoken with the trusted TDS voice. Ahh!
We should open another thread "other uses of TDS"
tips, tricks, scripting, speech, sublimational tips of the day, healing beeps patterns alerts, have TDS reading your favorite poem aloud, have TDS phoning your local supermarket and ordering system, eventually voicecommanded, have TDS start your oven when you call the pc from your cellphone, spam the spammer, etc etc it does not yet walk the dog, but you could invent that too.
Anyway, lots of ways to enjoy ourselves with TDS, even for some trojan detection and security related issues.
TDS is so much fun -- our systems couldn't do without! And now get that WelcomeF.wav from the testfiles in the sticky threads on top of this forum and play it again and again!

That's not good, and better notification is one of the things I would have changed.

    My apoligies.

    From http://www.emeraldtiger.com/general/irishvscots.htm:

The Spelling of Whiskey Vs. Whisky

How should whisk(e)y be spelled ? Whiskey, with an "e" is how the generic word is spelled when unconnected to a brand name. Most Irish and American distillers also use this spelling. Scottish and Canadian products are however spelled without the "e" as in whisky.

Actually, that one is next on my list.

@Dallen: Just wondering, nothing personal, but on which school/university did they educate you that hitting someone is a lot of fun? You've taken that lesson well! (hope I took my english lesson well, otherwise you could misinterpret this :( )

Well there's new free utilities out on SoftPedia and KLiteTools.com, including APT and APM. I imagine this relates to the upcoming product.

Nothing personal Get, but the correct English (and I learned this in 3rd grade at Burtsfield Elementary School), is "...at which school/university..." As far as where I learned "that hitting someone is a lot of fun," I don't think it's fun. I just feel an obligation to help others see the truth.
Actually, it is sad that I continue monitoring this section of the Wilders forum seeing how the software it's centered around is dead. I came here originally because I was intrigued by the level of intellect within this forum, not to mention the quality of the software it supported. Now that the software is dead and gone the quality of the remaining forum members has diminished a little and I am starting to see a higher concentration of loyalists and consequently the very reason I was drawn to the forum is dissippating. I guess I've been hangin' on hoping for a miracle software to replace TDS and longing for the day when the members that attracted me to this forum will return.

    Where?

Those tools are there quite a while and APT was developed as a termination test for ProcessGuard. You really should visit the www.diamondcs.com.au site (products page) more often.
