After the reboot I went to www.grc.com and did the comman ports test and still fail the ICMP test but all ports are still stealthed.

I currently have ICMP(Ping) Deny Incoming...

Once again I found the problem.. all I had to do was setup my router too block the ping and I passed.

That kinda just puts a bandaid on the problem though. Having the router block the incoming ping. You should have the router let it thru and see if the firewall can block it, as it should.

Does that work? Surely it will not be looking beyond the router so will report back whatever the router says. The computer is on a different address.

I'm just saying that the firewall alone should block incoming pings and stealth your system, without a router. Sure, the router will itself block everything if you use it..

No - what I am saying is that GRC will only look at the router, not beyond it to the computer, so you cannot test whether the f/w is blocking pings without removing the router from the connection.

I had this with mine before I got a router. Kerio stealthed everything correctly. Fitted the router and it failed with the pings, so then had to set up the router with a rule to block them.

Ok, I see what you mean. In my case here, I recently added a router, but it handles the pings properly by default, so I didn't have to change anything.

Now I'm using Filseclab, and I noticed that FilMsg.exe is in Memory.
so I read a explanation of it, and felt that I probably don't need FilMsg.exe running.
but they say ''FilMsg.exe is a important process, you should run it.''
    Can I terminate FilMsg.exe??

Sorry, If my poor English cofuse you.

FilMsg is the Filseclab messenger. But if you don't use the messenger functions, this process is used for testing the download speed and other things.
You may start it "by hand" and you will see a brief explanation of what it is doing. It must be started at Windows startup.

As I understand it filmsg.exe running on your computer is the way that notifications of updates and other possible info can be obtained from the home site. However anything with "msg" in it reminds me of Microsoft Messenger which I have always disabled. So my immediate reaction to filmsg.exe was to stop it running as soon as I first installed filseclab. It is loaded by the startup folder and can be stopped loading by deleting the entry from that folder. (Start - All programs - startup). Stopping it running makes no difference to the working of the firewall.
From time to time you might check "liveupdate" in the firewall program to see if there are any updates from time to time, but since I have been running the program, there haven't been any.
Overall I am finding the program very good. Your English is very good!

Its look like Filseclab Firewall filter packets less than Jetico Firewall. Can i assume this firewall secure enough?

Thank you for your reply (I was surprised at the thing that the answer comes immediately.) (^_^)
I could solve the problem immediately.
I decided not to start FilMsg.exe because I needn't functions except packet filter and application control.
At the end, I want to say again ''Thank you.''

I as well disabled FilMsg.exe from starting up and didn't affect Filseclab's firewall at all, as hollingwood stated. All it does is send you a little pop-up about current threats.. :D

The network communication which does not use Socket is unable to intercept, for example: The network neighborhood of used NetBios, and Ping of used ICMP protocol, these network packets cannot be intercept.

this is a shortcoming of the firewall.what do you think about it?
we're safe or not? other firewalls do the same way to do check packets?
    i'm anxious about it.

I haven't read anything about a new version but it's only using 12 MB on my system, so no complaints here. Of course low(er) memory/resource usage is always welcome with any product. :)

What kind of resource usage do you have with it?

The CPU usage is also very important to see the program resources ;)

I tried it a two or three weeks ago and it used 29MB on my system. I quite liked it but for that amount of RAM usage I'd rather use Kerio. If there is a newer version with less resource use I would definitely give it another try.
