hi, i just installed the new version of Opera. it's the first time i have really used it and i like it so far. do you have any tips for setting it up? like how to handle cookies? so far i am refusing 3rd party and asking every time for 1st.

    are there any nice themes?

what about the ad? i picked "show relevant text ads..." do you think that's the best option?

There are 343 opera skins here as far as cookies go, I allow cookies to track password sites. I pretty much allow all cookies and just delete the ever so often. As far as downloads go, I would set opera downloads to put them in a folder of your choice. I just created a folder in my documents and use that for downloads, It works well. You will get the hang of opera pretty quick, and when you get used to it you probably won't want to use anything else. As far as ads go, I just choose generic ads. It doesn't change them near as often. To save screen space, click view/tool bars and uncheck main bar and check personal bar. And I have panels unchecked also, to me they are a pain in the butt. The rest of the settings you will pick up with use :D ;) The personal bar is used to place short cuts to your favorite sites. Just go to your sites and drag the address into the personal bar. To take up less space in the personal bar right click on the short cuts you have placed there and in the box that opens click properties and delete the highlited entry and use an abbreviation to use less space, see screen shot

I like Oddessy, Marina, wFFTBrad Native, Qute, and iCandy Native skins for Opera. Opera handles skins better than Firefox.

My advice, take your time setting up Opera. It's not that it's hard but you can make it perform exactly as you like. If you like the IE or Firefox look, you can adjust the toolbars to look just like them. It has a lot of built in features I like such as gestures and many right-click options.

    iceini60,

I run my Opera since version 2x and have always run it skinless for the best performance, Opera is great out of the box and doesnt' need any config change unless you are on a slower, older machine, then you can do some nice memory tweaks.

I think that this is the best way, i do the same. What about the speed? Is it really the fastest browser as they claim?
