When I boot I see the F11 Acronis flag and I can go into the boot and make or restore from the secure zone but once I boot into Win XP Pro SP2 and start V9 it says there are no hard drives although the program is running from this driveo_O??

    Hello leonpress,

First of all, please make sure that you use the latest build (903) of Acronis True Image 8.0 which is available at: http://www.acronis.com/homecomputing/support/updates/

To get access to updates you should create an account at:
    http://www.acronis.com/homecomputing/my/
then log in and use your serial number to register your software.

If the problem still persists after installing the update then please download and install the latest version of Acronis drivers with disabled logging:

    http://www.acronis.com/files/support/SnapAPI_l_s_e.exe

If that does not help then please enable logging by running the update once again, reproduce the problem and collect the c:\snapapi.log file.

Please also download the Acronis Report utility available at: http://www.acronis.com/files/support/AcronisReport.exe and run it, create a report (usually named 'report.txt').

Send these report.txt and c:\snapapi.log files to support@acronis.com along with the link to this thread. We will investigate the problem and try to provide you with the solution.

    Thank you.

I had the same problem after updating from rel. 826 to 903. 826 worked fine for me, 903 didn't.

That solved the problem! Many thanks for that hint.
The question remains: Why did 826 work and 903 didn't? Does 826 contain the latest drivers and 903 doesn't o_O Funny ...

    Hello tlu,

The point is that sometimes information about Acronis drivers that is recorded in the Windows registry gets corrupted after installing some other software (especially in case of installing partition management software or any other backup software) or after updating to a newer build.

Of course build 903 contains more recent version of Acronis drivers then build 826 for example, but we also have separate installation packages for the latest versions of Acronis drivers. I mean drivers that are even newer than the drivers included in the latest build.

However reinstallation of the drivers usually resolves the problem in such cases.

    Thank you.
