    upon startup of true image server (latest trial from website), the status bar shows "analyzing partitions" for about 3-4min. in this timespan, the server is not responsible anymore - services come to an halt due to 100% disk activity. after a while windows 2003 server nicely quits its job with a blue screen and memory dump.

    upon restart, the raid array's drive 0 is corrupt and needs rebuilding.

    to make matters worse, since the installation of true image server you can't access any of the server's share anymore. trying to do so results in a "not enough server storage is available to process this command." error on the client side and an event id 2011 (srv) "The server's configuration parameter "irpstacksize" is too small for the server to use a local device" on the server's side.

    trying to uninstall true image through its own installer results in another BSOD - the installer tries to analyze the partitions before uninstall (what the heck is this for anyway??)...

    this is mildly said a complete disaster. :mad:

    configuration:
    ibm xServe x306 (out-of-the-box)
    adaptec embedded serial ata hostraid (driver version: 4.0.36.2)
    2x 160gb maxtor sata drivers
    1x usb2 maxtor 200gb external drive
    windows 2003 sp1

    Boot from your BartPE or WinPE Cd and use the file manager and RegeditPE to delete files and edit the registry as follow:

    the server works fine (well, except for the share thingy) as long as you don't start the acronis application. therefore i already was able to delete all drivers and services. without the acronis services running, mapping a shared folder works fine.

    if the devs would want some crash logs, i got them laying around. also any hints what could produce the hang would be nice - we got a second system with same configuration - and everything works fine there.... o_O

    Hello thae,

    Thank you for your interest in Acronis Server Disk Backup Software.

    As for shared folders, please increase IRPStackSize value in HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\Services\LanmanServer\Parameters by 3. This will fix the problem. The detailed information on this problem is located at http://support.microsoft.com/?scid=kb;en-us;177078.

    As for BSOD, please do the following in order to enable mini-dumps.

    - Open Computer properties either by right clicking on My Computer icon and choosing Properties or by opening System properties in Control Panel;
    - Go to Advanced tab;
    - Press Startup and Recover Settings button;
    - Choose Small memory dump in Write debugging information box;
    - Close all the dialog windows by clicking OK buttons.

    Then please reproduce the system crash and send the mini-dumps created to support@acronis.com along with the link to this thread. This will allow us to investigate the problem thoroughly.

    Thank you.

    I've seen this problem occur repeatedly with Western Digital RAID Edition SATA & WD RAID Edition IDE hard drives & Acronis TI. Swap out the hard drives with any non-RE on the same system and Acronis TI will work fine.

    Hello Andreas,

    I have looked through your correspondence with Daniel (though I am not good in German I could understand the general point). The only thing that is unclear is what controller you use? Is it IBM RAID or Adaptec? I will contact Daniel with the who9le description and ask him to take care of the issue.

    Thank you.

    believe me, thats the FIRST thing i did - increased the buffer until the max value is reached. the only thing that helps is to actually remove the TI drivers. when searching for a solutions, other KB articles suggest to actually remove the (in their case) antivirus tool...

    done, 5 dumps on the way. please contact me if you found the solution... or at least a hint what component is producing the error. we got 3 systems that all have the same hardware - the trial version runs on 2 of them flawless, but the one i actually need to back up, the 3rd one, crashes. murphey's law...

    Hello guy,

    Thank you for choosing Acronis Disk Backup Software.

    Well, then first you should try the workarounds suggested above.

    If the problem still persists then please create Windows mini-dumps as mentioned above, describe your issue in more words (provide the exact product name and build number, operating system, exact model of the RAID controller, describe actions taken before the problem appears, etc.) and send this information to support@acronis.com along with the link to this thread. We will investigate the problem and try to provide you with the solution.

    Thank you.

    Hello axeloudijk,

    Thank you for choosing Acronis Server Disk Backup Software.

    Well, then please create Acronis Report as it is described in Acronis Help Post.

    Reproduce the problem then and create another Acronis Report in the way described below:

    - Download and run Acronis Report Utility;
    - Select the "Create Bootable Floppy" option;
    - Insert a blank floppy disk in the A: drive and proceed with creation of the bootable floppy;
    - Boot the computer from this diskette and wait for report creation process to finish;
    - Collect the report file from the floppy.

    Please rename the first report to report_before.txt and the second report to report_after.txt.

    Please also find the full version name and build number as it is shown here.

    What operating system you use?

    Create an account, then log in and submit a request for technical support. Attach all the collected files and information to your request along with the step-by-step description of the actions taken before the problem appears and the link to this thread. We will investigate the problem and try to provide you with the solution.

    Thank you.
