    Oh great!

I hate the Yahoo toolbar and it drives me nuts when people install it on our PC's at work.

Sorry, but I don't trust any special search toolbar.
I can't prove it of course, but I believe that all these special search toolbars have an influence on search results for certain items, whatever that may be, it depends on what the toolbar writer WANTS you to find on the net.
What's the point of creating another search toolbar anyway, there are already so many search engines on the net.
So there must be a very good reason to create such search toolbars.
My opinion about special search toolbars is based on a combination of intuition, logical thinking and knowing human nature.

I prefer to use www.google.com or any other search engine for searching on the internet.
Not that I trust google either, but you have to trust something on the net and I like the presentation of google, more than any other search engine.

Of course, that's my personal opinion and you don't have to agree with it and I can't prove it, because I don't have the source program to verify it.
But there are alot of other things I can't prove on the internet like who is who, who is what, ...
I consider internet and anything that is related to internet as a combination of images and/or words and it's upto each internet user to decide what is true or false or a combination of true and false.

The thing I don't like about Google is if you go there through a proxy, and that proxy should happen to be from Germany for example, it will tailor it for someone from Germany. Ditto for other proxies from other countries. So they detect where you are coming from, what country. Just another spying method, but Yahoo doesn't do this, that's why I prefer Yahoo for my searches.

    Erikguy,
Sorry man, but your link didn't work. It gave me the login page of Bluetack.
After trying several times, Bluetack sent me even a warning to stop searching for a non-existing link LOOOL.
Nevermind, if you give me an existing link, I will read it.
    Thank you in advance.

I'll never understand the fascination with browser toolbars. They always get in the way and never seem to add anything useful to life on the web. Then again, maybe that's just me...

I concur, that makes two of us :)
Besides that, Firefox starts with google, so no need for an extra toolbar.

The link could be to an exclusive sub-forum for which you have to be registered to read. As always registration with a security related forum is free and Bluetack is one of the best IMO so it wouldn't hurt you to check 'em out! ;)

About the article, pay particular attention to the points in red. Particularly number 6.

    Erikguy,
I registered myself at B.I.S.S. and after confirming my registration, your link worked fine.
I didn't know that sometimes registering is necessary to read other forum's posts.
So you taught me something new today.

    Concerning your link :
I never trusted/installed additional toolbars, but it's even worse than I thought.
So it certainly confirms my idea about all these toolbars.
Since you are a frequent poster at WSF you probably remember the thread about Dell's "My Way Search Assistant"
    https://www.wilderssecurity.com/showthread.php?t=89204

Thank you for CONFIRMING my suspicions.
