none . Have tds3 license but stopped using it a year or so ago. I just rely on kav lite for the present .

None. Just use KAV in real-time.

But I have Ewido in reserve as an on-demand scanner.

I had to toss a coin between "other" and "none". I don't use a dedicated a-t, but avast (a-v) has a great many trojans (and loaders) in its defs these days.

    Hi Mike,

Very true. One could clearly make a case that some of the AVs, as you mentioned, provide excellent AT protection.

Does it even make a difference what AT you are running when even the "king" of AT's can't make it in the industry. TDS discontinued.....the security industry might possibly be undergoing a change that might render this question irrevelant.

BOClean has stated on the TDS forum that they are not going anywhere due to corporate contracts and Ewido seems to be gaining in popularity. So the sky has not yet fallen.

No sky falling but what if....just what if....Google enters the picture and decides to do a rampage through the security industry buying up select technology and renaming it the Google Security suite....well, BoClean will make it for the next 4 years because of govt contracts but can Ewido withstand that type of competition when even Symantec and McAfee might have difficulties surviving?

Right now, the dedicated AT is a question mark....even the dedicated AV market could come under fire if the really big boys....the ones with Wall Street money backing them enter the fray.

It is only my opinion but everything is up in the air for me. I shall be entertained by seeing how it all plays out.....but my entertainment for today is a BBQ with my family so I am off of here for now.....

Then I might buy the Google product. Market /product evolution. Simple. But we need to get back to the topic of this thread.

Now that things have changed with TDS-3 since I first did this poll, I am only using NOD32. The longevity of anti-trojans are very questionable to me now for me to want to purchase another only to go belly-up. :doubt:

I don't run any AT realtime (unless I'm installing a program). I feel it's redundant (realtime) with my setup. Same for AS realtime.

    Currently realtime :

    AV
    PG
    Prevx1
    Online Armour
    ShadowUser
    Wormguard
    Firewall

Nothing has ever got through it.

Lol, well, maybe someday something will.....but fair enough...it'll be a long way from when I used to get infected with spyware a couple of times a month.

You can't say that. ;) Nothing is 100percent SECURE!!!! I use NOD32, PG, Tiny Firewall 2003, Trojan Remover, TDS-3, Reg Defender, Acronic PrivacySuite, KAV as a back-up to NOD 32, Outpost as a back-up to Tiny Firewall 2005, a 2Wire Router.

    and still I DON"T TRUST WINDOW SERVER 2003 DATACENTER!!!! But that's a difference story. ;) :D
