Thank you for this explanation, SSK. I was beginning to lose faith in Firefox if they would actually release a BETA for 1.0.6 JUST DAYS after releasing 1.0.5 full!

While SSK is in general correct, in this case Mozilla have confirmed that 1.0.6 is imminent. 1.0.5 introduced API changes that broke loads of plug-ins, so 1.0.6 will be quick on the heels of 1.0.5 to fix the incompatibilities.

Well, sounds like my intuition to "wait" a while to make the upgrade from 1.0.4 may have been a good one now....

Hi guys... I'm one of those guys who can't use JRE with FFox since 1.0...

    Does 1.06 fix this incoompatibility? 1.05 still didn't :(

Who's having similar problems? I don't have to use JRE very often, but when I have to, I just miss it on FFox. :(

I was wondering if there 's some FFox extension somewhere which would fix this problem and allow FFox to run JRE again?!

    Thks

Hi Ronjor ;) I have the same problem as described above by JavaProb.

The link you provided takes one to Mozilla, which in turn points to Java SUN 's official site.

The problem is: even with the latest JRE installed, and with the FFox options allowing for the use of Java, applets of sites using Java wouldn't load on my XPSP2 HOME machine. It's been happening since FF 1.01, if I recall correctly. Previous FFox versions, on same system configuration, worked correctly.

When encountering such a site, I then switch to Opera, which loads applets fast and smooth. FFox 1.05 just hangs when trying to load Java applets.

Thanks to anyone who could help fix this state of affairs.
