How do I find out where an email REALLY comes from?

I have been getting some very clever email sent to me thanks to a virus.

The virus seems to be infected on someone's computer and is going through their address book and making a from line that is simular to the person it is sending itself out to.

For instance, if my email is complete@completetranslations.com, its from line says "admin@completetranslations.com"

the email says:

We regret to inform you that your account has been suspended due to the
violation of our site policy, more info is attached.​

But my anti-virus program catches it:

Viruses found in the attached files.
The file email-doc.zip: Virus identified I-Worm/Mytob.FR. The attachment was moved to the virus vault.

OOPs, my mistake, I see the free links at the bottom. At they top they say "sign up to get the answer" and then they ask for money.

 

Thunderbird seems to have a pretty good spam filter built in....

Concerning spam-emails, I'm not really interested where they come from.
According my readings, it's hard to find these spammers anyway and when the law is too close to them,
they move to another country with lesser laws or no laws for spammers.
They can afford it because they are all very rich people. Spam is "good" business.

I'm confident that other more qualified people are doing this for me.
How hard these spam-hunters may work, I don't see much results in my inbox.
Sometimes I think they prefer to keep spam statistics, rather than hunting spammers.

I don't waste any time on spam-emails, except DELETING without opening them and that job is for 99% done by my Anti-Spam software. If it's spam, it's scam or malware.

Unfortunately alot of users like to read their spam-emails in stead of reading the many websites, that try to warn people against the danger of spam-emails.
Well these users have to pay for their curiosity sooner or later.
Meanwhile I keep on writing posts in a Free Lotto Forum, to save these spam readers from being scammed.

Thunderbird seems to be highly recommended by several security websites.

Sign up for a SpamCop account (it is free) and you can report spam there - it will automatically check the email headers to identify the real sender and notify both the originating ISP and those of any websites referenced.
