I have been trying for days to renew my renew my Extendia Pro, however when i try to give them my credit card details i get an error message

    The following errors have occurred.
    (13) The merchant login ID or password is invalid or the account is inactive.

Slightly concerning, I have tried to call Boomerang, it appears everyone, including all the sales executives are "busy" all the time.

So either they dont want to take money or more worryingly they cant any more

Does anyone know do they still exist, if not ok, what next? i loathe Norton and McCoffee

So what now suggestions please? KAV? or ......

If you like that software, I suggest you purchase license from GData directly, as this is the originating company of the software you are using, just rebrnaded. Also GData AVK 2005 is much lighter on system resources and their tech support is getting better.

hank you, for that, i just want to know my machine is moderately safe from viruses etc and I bought extendia as a good option about a year ago, is the GData a good option? or is there another people would suggest.

Yes I liked the interface and its abilities, so the question is is Gdata the best option for my laptop

Retail packages for eXtendia routinely appear on Amazon for sale for as little as $5. Check there.

I agree. I moved from extendia to gdata. It was a good move. Give gdata a look it has the KAV and Bit Def engines along with hourly updates. The down side is that it is more expensive than extendia.

It was not receiving updates, there were no warnings untill i looked at the control panel, no email so Extendia got a thumbs down, as a temporary patch untill i decide what i am going to do, I downloaded and PAID for NOD.

Now I am thinking of either GData or KAV Pro as my back up.

Not 100% sure about NOD seemed a tad slower opening up firefox this am than with extendia but will keep an eye on it.

or, just keep NOD32 as a realtime and use a free AV like Avast, AntiVir, AVG as a back-up...

If you have purchased NOD32, keep it. You wont regret it :)

Otherwise, purchase GDATA AVK - you wont regret that either ;)

Yes i did buy NOD, its nice seems ok and has linked into outlook well, so i like it, little speed change on this lap top.

Thanks for the advice i may well get a freebie but they dont seem to have the same level perfomance as the bought ones, was my only thought.

    But thank you anyway

I use the same setup that you are thinkig of using. Nod as my real time and gdata for my on demand. This combo will kill all bad boys. and yes it can be viewed as over kill. :)

Why didn't you just run a beta, trial or free AV until you decided what to do? Hastily running and purchasing an AV because your license ran out on another one seems a bit rash.

Heck, you coulda ran VBA32 for free even.

i totally agree!!! besides you're just wasting your money if the AV you bought didn't work well on your system...

try other AV first, then decide what works best for you and not what works for other people...

I checked out the Gdata sight. Found no mention of this but does anyone know if there is a trial version available? Would be nice to try it out first. Thanks

There is one, only in German easy to find. But it's useless. The virus update is closed on that trial and the file is from April. They must be really afraid of illegal copies.... But that also means that I don't want to do anything with the package because I can't test it for fully, for let's say a month.
