    Guys,

I have solved the scheduled tasks not running problem on my system:

Seems the scheduled tasks didn't run when I was logged in twice at the system (once on the console, once with remote desktop protocol, under another administrator account)

    I had trueimagemonitor.exe en schedhlp.exe running *twice*

Deleted the secondaries, restarted the service in services.msc

Scheduled job as *another* administrator account in TI. Jobs run fine.

I'll let you know if it keeps working or not.

    Hi

I had been going nuts with our 2003 server not running backups.

Per your post I looked at the taskmanager on the server and found 2 instances of trueimagemonitor.exe and schedhlp.exe running.
One set was for Administrator and the second was under my admin name.
I am in control of the backup procedures so I hit end process on the instances for Administrator in TaskManager. I opened up services.msc and stopped and then restarted the Acronis Scheduler2 service. The scheduled backup proceeded to run at the specified time.......the first time that it ever worked correctly!

Seeing how TI appears to allow anyone to use the application I wonder how this problem can be permanently corrected to allow only 1 instance of Trueimagemonitor.exe and schedhlp.exe to run on system.

    Yeah,

You pretty much had the same situation I had. Now, I'm not sure if it's due to the processes running twice being deleted that the scheduled task runs, or that it's because of the stop/restart of the service.

I just hope it keeps running this time...

Comments on the above problem by Acronius Technical Support would be greatly appreciated.

After killing all running tasks except for the service, and logging out of the system, my backups run just fine.

It must be multiple instances of the helper tasks that "block" the service?

I have noted numerous times that when users logoff our 2003 server their copies of Trueimagemonitor.exe and schedhlp.exe remain active thus creating the above mentioned problem with the running of scheduled tasks.

Granted that the above mentioned programs are needed by users to use TI correctly a fix is needed to make sure that when they logoff their copies are stopped from running on the server.

Furthermore, on a Win 2003 system, when managing the server through RDP, you have the situation that an admin is logged in and locked the desktop, while another admin is logged in at the same time. This creates double EXE's as well. At this moment the scheduled backups fail.

My current solution is to use an admin account for TI services only, but having extra admins is in fact a security concern.

I'm running Terminal Services (RDP) on a 2003 box, and haven't had a scheduled task run for some time. Since I'm also having the same problem with a web server, I assumed the problem was the same.

When I look at running tasks, I can see that each user has the TrueImageMonitor.exe running under them. I can't kill them, since I have 10-30 people jumping in and out every hour, 24X5, and the process will keep coming back for each user. I do have the software installed and usable only for the "logged in user" which was the admin when I installed it, but that apparently only means that the shortcuts to the Acronis folder is not available for everyone else.

So what can I do to get this fixed? I can't work on the registry, since I can't reboot it easily.

Looks like I'll add this to the list of things to get worked out with TI Support.

It might produce errors when users log on, but in a live system try to alter the security on the EXE files - give RX access to administrators only?

Surely Acronis must be running windows domains, or not, when testing this stuffo_O
