I have run into some trouble with a folder in Outlook 2003 and am trying to recover from a backup.

I mount the backup as a drive and then restore the PST file to an alternate location. Then I try to open the file in Outlook and I get an invalid file error. I have even tried moving it the normal location and name for my PST file and when I do this Outlook will not even open.

I have done restores of PST files before and have never had problems like this and do not know what I am doing wrong here but could certainly use some direction...

    Thanks

    Dan

If you are running build 859 most files recovered from an image will be corrupt. It is a fault with the extraction technique and not the image. Many threads about this.

You need to downgrade to build 826.

Read this thread https://www.wilderssecurity.com/showthread.php?t=84646 for "downgrade" instructions.

    Paul,

Thank you very much for that, I had seen posts regarding this problem but didn't put 2+2 together ;)

    Hello DMorgan002,

Thank you for choosing Acronis Disk Backup Software.

Please note that this problem is not in the image archive but in the mounting ability of the program. If you restore this image archive, everything will work normally (files will not be corrupted). The problem will be fixed in the new build.

We apologize for the current inconvenience.

    Thank you.
