    Hi,
Just joined the forum as I have started getting this message since I installed build 826. However to throw a spanner in the works I get the error message when I am trying to create my image on a hard drive NOT a CD. My backups worked fine until I installed the latest build.
    Anyoone like to comment?

    Hi,Ianwb!

Can you just ignore the message & carry on as I was able to do when using DVDs?
    Regards

It really kind of freaks me out that TI is actually using this inferior cdrecord command line utility from the Linux world for writing to CD in a Win32 environment. I realize it is free, but does Acronis really have not enough paying customers to be that cheap?? For gods sake, at least resort to NeroAPI as long as Nero is present on the system! But of course, better get one of the many CD/DVD writing engines with SDK out there. Look at http://www.rocketdivision.com for instance, they could even be the guys next door (meaning they are from Russia too).

I never paid to upgrade to V8.... Too many times I was told the same "upgrade to the latest version and let us know" Glad I saved my money!

NEWS FLASH... The same message occurs when I backup to another machine on my home network. IOW, This IS NOT DVD related... It goes DEEPER than that!

Unfortunately, along with Front Range, Acronis has joined the ranks of SW companies that simply aren't commited to investing in and producing a quality product.

Shame but face the facts. If their culture hasn't demanded a quality product in the past, it isn't likely to in the future. They have a clearly demonstrated track record. Pissing and moaning and expecting THEM to change isn't realistic folks... MOVE ON!

    Hello LongTimeUser,

Please accept our apologies for your inconvenience. Could you please create Acronis Report (of the machine on your home network) and send it to support@acronis.com along with the link to your post and indicate in the subject that you want to contact Irina Shirokova. This information would let us investigate the problem under consideration thoroughly and provide you with a possible workaround.

    Thank you.
