Wrong drive selected for recovery!! :(

I accidently recovered the wrong drive, it has now overwritten my data. How can i restore this or undo the acronis recover, Please help!!

 

If you have overwritten your data, then it is gone.

 

rahulshah, you can not undo a restore. As wdormann correctly points out, once the bits on the hard disk have been overwritten with new data they are gone (or almost gone - if you have $10,000 of dollars specialist companies can recover even overwritten data).

You only chance is to recover the data that have not been overwritten. If your backup was very small, and the hard disk area very large, the parts that have not been overwritten can be recovered - more or less. But it is a difficult procedure - I don't even know which companies or which products to recommend to you.

If the data is really important you might want to try the PC Inspector file recovery program version 4. I believe that is freeware and can be downloaded from Snapfiles.com - (freeware/system utilities/data recovery tools). Might be worth a try! Even if you can't recover all your data you might save some. I haven't used it myself, but the various reviews seem quite good.....Howard

I check drive letter againsed size, to make sure its right letter.

in other words check size before drive letter...

 

I name my drives after the size and position.

That way I can select the right one in Windows and TI Boot disk (Linux)
