noobie question

Sorry for this noobie question.

But is there a way to suspend Regdefend's protection for a short while?

Just like the way you can do it for Processguard.

It seems like even with the GUI off, it is still working. How the heck do I kill it?

To suspend/disable the protection all you have to do is disable the groups. Just simply double-click on the group/s and you will get a window asking if you want to disable the group. To re-enable, double-click on the group/s again.

I must be blind because I can't see any mention of it in the help file.
The lack of a global disable button seems weird.

Some more questions

1) I understand the group order shows the order in which they are checked.

What about the order of the rules within a group? Or does that even make sense?

2) If I add a new rule or a new group, or add a new app to bypass the rules, do the effects take place immediately? Or do I have to reboot?

I must say the interface looks quite unpolished, it seems you can't drag and drop to order the groups, or the rules within the groups?

Being able to quickly earch through your rules for registry keys or subkeys and values makes rule making a lot easier when you have a big rule set.

For example, I imported Tony's/tays rules and I decided to watch what Microsoft's Antispyware polls, so that I could add them to RD's rules. The idea was to turn off all of MSAS's realtime protection that relates to polling of registry, while keeping the rest (scan process engine, file monitoring - hosts,startup folder etc) . I found It very difficult to see if a key/value was already being monitored, a search would make things easier

I'm all for more power features, but I think usability shouldn't be neglected, espically for those of us who intend to spend time tuning new rulesets.

They are in effect immediately when you select Add Rule
