I've run into this problem too with BF1942. Holy smoke there was pop-up city. I think I've finally taken care of it by manually setting the trust level in the Program Control - Programs tab.

Also after running my p2p app, Shareaza, for a couple of hours memory usage is at 9460K and vm size is at 7884K. Both have actually dropped since I installed it earlier this afternoon. Very different from a few versions back when memory usage would shoot through the ceiling and bring my machine to its knees. This coupled with no BSOD's on install makes me a very happy ZAP user!

Looks pretty good here so far. I get no popups for Outlook or anything.. All is well. This might turn out to be a good addition.. :)

BOClean generates about 15 popups on startup despite having full trust for the app. Tried uninstalling Acrobat Reader 6.0 so I could install 7.0... 35 popups... finally had to shut ZA down, kid you not. BTW I am checking the "remember" box.

I'll give this another day, but honestly I came across at least 200 process monitor alerts today. Totally unacceptable in my book.

I agree, makes Jetico's redundant pop ups a welcome feature compared to this, went back to version 5

I decided I didn't need the extra "features" and went back to ZA Plus 4.0 myself. Has everything I need without any bloat whatsoever. Nice and fast too. And easy to use. Highly recommended.

I haven't had that many pop-ups. Also I am wondering if "Smart Defense" needs to be set to Custome instead of Auto. I am no longer getting Pop-ups but when I did it was good to see the new addition of information about what programs where being sent what information.

Ok it appears that even on upgrade this version resets the "Alert Events Shown" under "Alerts and Logs" to High. I have changed this back to "Off" I will test some more but it appears this has taken care of my extanious pop-ups.

Oh I have noticed that the Anti-Spyware has decided that Shareaza is bad. Even though I have told it to exclude 'Raza it trashed the program the first time it ran and sometime in the night it picked on it again. Oh well... :) I've already got CounterSpy running so no loss.

With p2p running all night the memory and vm both dropped slightly. It appears they really have fixed that issue. Thanks ZoneLabs!

So far, so good! I don't get that BSOD from when I unchecked the load ZAP at startup option. I might actually renew if it keeps running this well. I have heard that it does inspect the data inside packets, so that's a relief. I don't want it to fully trust anything.

Believe me, so far it seems this is the most untrustworthy version I have used. If you want it will pop-up you to death. :)

It hasn't been untrustworthy for me. I couldn't use the 5 version without problems. This one is running smoothly with no BSOD. So I'm trusting my own experience. As for the pop-ups, I understand them and don't mind.

Wait until you allow and check remember for the same one about 40 times in a day.

Well, I haven't had one problem with that yet. I will report what I am experiencing, and not go by others. That's the whole point of a beta.

Yup, problem is you need a well managed beta program with good processes in place to ensure that implementable ideas are fed to the devs and necessary changes occur. My experience with ZL in the past is that once it reaches public beta, not much changes.

Also wanted to toss out there that I can't hibernate laptop. Freezes on desktop background.

    Back to 5.5 for me.

It seems to lock me out of the iTunes music store for no reason sometimes. I better report that. It's just that Sygate and my Kaspersky don't seem to cooperate, and I'd rather not dump Kaspersky.

My meaning was that it will give you more information about absolutely everything than any previous version. Not trusting the programs connecting and reporting! Get ito_O I am also having no problems with this version.

Other than the amount of time required to configured this POS, annoying popups and hibernation bug, it's worked fine. There is just too much interaction with this thing right now.

I guess that interaction just bothers you more than it does me. I'm sure some things will be tweaked.

tazdevl I understand your issues, but let's be a little more subjective and descriptive than using POS.

I had the same issue as you with pop-ups initially, but I figured out how to stop them. I now have no more pop-ups. Fixed. Some might want that constant reminder. K?

Configuration wasn't that different so time for me wasn't that bad. It's not like we were learning to operate a nuclear power plant. Come on the configuration options haven't changed that much...

Hibernate, if really just a ZAP issue, is a very valid issue to send in to them. It's beta so problems can be expected. Send it in!!!

Installed ZA pro beta over the top of ZA (free) 5.5.094 without incident. It picked up all my previous settings and seems to be running smoothly. One event pop up when I opened Windows Explorer from a shortcut on my Office toolbar, but remember this works (no further popups related to the toolbar).

However the first spyware scan found two items, both of which I think are FPS.

    1. WinSpy, because I have an old URLHIST.tlb file in my system32 folder (but none of the other files or registry entries associated with Winspy are present)
    2. Netbus 2 beta, because it found Install shield's uninst.exe in the Windows folder (again none of the other files and registry entries for NetBus are present).

Spybot, which has both of these in its database, reports nothing, nor do Adaware or MS Antispyware report anything at all; HJT log is also clean. So I'm pretty sure they're FPs. Putting them in the exceptions list (click always ignore in the scan results page) works.

I have reported it to ZA beta feedback.
