i was just at betanews when i saw it. the only changes mentioned were:

    • Anti-spyware (detection and prevention)
    • Triple Action Firewall™ (Network firewall, operating system firewall, program firewall)
    • Enhanced antivirus functionality (quarantine and pause)
    • Automatic kill control (disables malicious programs)
Maybe a ZA user is willing to give em a try and provide feedback?

Using ZAP and so far so good. I haven't run the spyware scan yet. Trust Level is new in the Program tab. New pop-ups with quite a bit more info about what a process is trying to access and with what. I was quite interested to see that blackscreen.exe (part of bf1942) was there for a reason, it actually is passing the server ip, etc off to the program during map changes. Didn't know this but now ZAP actually reported what it was sending and to what program.

How is it on memory usage? Done any bandwidth testing?

I need to back everything up before I install this.

I beta'd 5 and 5.5, nothing went horribly wrong. Had a couple versions that didn't get along well with a couple apps, did a clean uninstall, did fine.

Page loads (bandwidth) are as fast as previous versions for me. I've never had slow downs on page loading due to ZAP and I've used IE6, Opera, and Firefox. Memory usage for zlclient.exe is 13,184K (mem usage) and 9,936K (vm size). About the same for me. I have noticed that in the last few versions, including betas that my P2P app doesn't cause ZAP to use (and not release) memory.

Also this version didn't cause the constant BSOD/reboot cycle like the last one. Last version (can't remember the version) caused an almost constant BSOD with either clean install or upgrade. I finally discovered my issue was with ZAP and StyleXP. I did an upgrade install on this one and everything went fine.

umm on the beta page it does say ZoneAlarm Pro 6.0.591.000 (Beta Version) so obviously its there. and yes the spyware detection is for both pro and security suite.

Please keep telling those information and opinions about this beta. I was really hoping that they would have done something to that GUI, hmmm perhaps in future...

It's a GUI, who cares as long as the app works. Regardless, it is one of the better firewall GUIs out there.

Fubie, just use Hypersnap, take a few shots and upload them if you want add them.

You can use "Manage Attachments" to upload images for a post here in addition to using image tags. The problem with using image tags and off site images is once they are no longer available at the remote site, they will no longer display in the post. For the integrity of the post it is better to use "Manage Attachments".

    Regards,

If the Anti-Spyware module is really good like the others, this will be the best Security Suite available... :)

Seems to be running OK, but the process guard/monitor is annoying as hell. Keep getting popups for simple things like opening Outlook, check the remember this action box... still comes up next time I open outlook.

It only lets me attach one file. I have those 3 pictures to attach. Kinda pointless. Oh well no pics for anyone. I guess the forum gods have to do it.

Just add one pic, close post, new post, add another, close it etc... 3 posts = 3 pictures. Doesn't take too much more time.

Sure could but don't want to. IMHO I shouldn't need to post multiple times for pics. Image if Black Spear had to do that for his tutorials...LMAO  . I'll let the powers that be do the posting.

Here is the A/V Monitoring page (I turned it on so you could see the other options, I usually have it off since it doesn't detect NOD32)
