Just because NOD32 now scans ADS does not mean it uses ADS.

All the minor issues that I found on the betas, are fixed with the latest version.
Works perfect in my PC.

 

That's not good, I want all the options and false positives I can get. Is there a way to permanently set deep heuristics for all the modules ?
So standard heuristics is enabled by default even if I don't have the advanced heuristics ?

If you ever used Panda Titanium 2004, you would never say such silly things.

There must be a reason for disabling Deep Heuristics. Eset never made a move bad for its customers' security since I use NOD32. And IMHO Advanced Heuristics perfectly makes up for it anyway.

 

Or F-Secure. I've tried many programs like this.
I'd like to know if setting 2 for heur_sensitivity in the registry enables deep heuristics.

I know you're just asking - but here's my take on deadline and publishing them.. nod32 or otherwise...

With the amount of moaning (or should that be persistent questioning) for a missed "deadline" with the initial release (which was delayed to FIX things), I think Eset (or any software company), would be ill-advised to offer a firm date for releases.

There are so many variables when producing a complex product such as an AV solution, that offering a fixed date and sticking to it risks the developers having to push out something they are unhappy with; just to placate the "mob" of eager update hunters.

Far better that the process is fully tested and comes when it's "ready", rather than prematurely because of a uneasy crowd.

I'm happy with "a couple of weeks or so" as an self imposed release schedule - especially as all I have to do is manually install it on machines that I encounter in the interim - the installation is a doddle - taking less than a minute to accomplish (you have to add to that reboot time)... it's only an 8Mb installer, so sits nicely on my thumb drive.

I just "upgraded a client's desktop and laptop today as they were in for an upgrade to an another piece of software she wanted me to handle -so I left them running a full scan over lunch and one piece of adware was found on the desktop using in-depth scan - this on an almost maxxed out 2.12.3 machine ... I'd say it was worth the manual install... as usual - ymmv.

May 30th - almost June, and still waiting for the automatic program update

Since this update was finalised long ago, what is the delay in rolling it out to those of us who choose to update in this way?

With the issues that I have seen in this forum with updates over the top, I say let the cake cook a little longer

My current recommendation remains to uninstall, remove the Eset folder and install the new version, or wait for the auto-update... And just to validate this, we tried another system today, straight over the top, it would not keep its settings, so uninstall, removal of Eset folder and reinstall, and all was well
