Also in Post # 4 above.

Post # 8 above is representative of what Adaware found after installing WhenU's UControl Toolbar.

AFAIK yes, it does... The only differences being in what you can tweak in the configuration options, what add-ons you can use, and of course Ad-Watch. It is kind of hard to tell since there is not an Ad-Aware Personal page anymore on the website (unless I am totally missing it ;) )...

I like Ad-Watch but it comsumes a lot of CPU on my system... Usually about 6 to 7 per cent... So i usually do not have it running and use a program like RegDefend instead...

    Hi, long time, no see.

Does anyone know what the option "Search for low-risk threats" is for?

    What are low-risk items? Cookies?

It has an almighty amount of false alarms on my system

attched the adaware log for reference

None of them are CWS as it says just regular entries & perfectly legitimate sites

That was with a smart scan and it didn't find any of the "files" in my collection
let's see how many it will find in a full deep system scan

Just uninstalled 1.05 and downloaded 1.06, and ran a scan which came up clean. 1.05 would at least find a tracking cookie or something. Oh well, I'm not complaining, just hope it was accurate. But I'll definitely take a clean PC anyday of the week. ;)

The 'Scan for low risk threats' option is intended to scan for things with with a low TAC index. Unfortunately this is not defined and the Help manual does not seem to have been updated to include more details.

Detection Categories for Threat Assessment Charts can be found in the relevant section here:-

version 1.06 seems VASTLY improved but has anyone tried ad-watch yet. I'm a little skeptical and suspicious. Many issues in the past.
