Managing Win 2000 system folders

According to the manual-no laughter please-DD suite can manage the win2k system folders only if they reside on a fat16/32 partition. Now, does this mean the OS should be in a 16/32 partition or that DD Suite should be in one, or that OS Selector shoud be. Having read the little item, page 114 in my manual, I now have no idea where to put anything. Should OS Selector be in the first primary in a fat 16/32 partition along with the OS, or can it be in a logical 16/32 partition somewhere on the first hd, or can it be on any hd in any kind of partition or should it be left in the box.

You can install Acronis OS Selector to any partition you wish. Could you please let me know the exact place in User's Guide that made you think there are limitation in this area? Probably, this place needs to be corrected and I will forward this request to the responsible person.

I've given up on this piece of junk

Days, nay weeks spent trying to get DD with OS sel to work with multiple installations of W2K. They aint independant, try running OS Sel repair and watch what happens to the folders and files every time, I think they just do what they feel like according to the phase of the moon. Buy some caddies and HD's and do it like that, no probs at all with that method. True Image you HD-now that does work well, what have Symantec done to ghost btw, and away you go. DD is definately a work in progress, maybe I'll look back in a couple of years when the forums have finally helped the manufacturer to get it to work properly.
