    I have just installed True Image 8 on a Dell Diminision 3000 at our church. When I try to create the Rescue CD, I get the message "Error burning the bootable CD-R/CD-RW" :( . We are able to burn other CD's. Any enlightenment will be greatly appreciated. Goody

    Hello goody,

    Thank you for choosing Acronis Disk Backup Software.

    We also strongly recommend you to update your copy of Acronis True Image 8.0 to the 826 build. In order to get access to updates you should register account on our site (or just log in if you have already created it) and then register your copy of the product.

    Please, also try to use the next tips to solve your problems:
    - Eject any disc from the burner prior to starting the application;
    - Proceed until the program asks for a disc and opens the tray;
    - Insert a disc and then click the "Proceed" button to close the tray automatically as well.

    If that doesn't help then we also recommend you to update third party CD writing software if any to the latest version available for free on its respective web site.

    Please also note that you should use a blank unformatted CD-R or CD-RW in order to create a bootable rescue disc.

    Thank you.

    If you are running a personal software firewall, be sure MediaBuilder.exe is provided "trusted" access to your system. This was my problem when I got the same error that you report.

    Hello Goody,

    The other possibility is to boot into Windows "Safe" mode (F8 whilst booting) and then try creating the boot rescue CD from there.

    Regards

    It would be nice if Acronis could build rescue CD's to .ISO images instead of burning them.

    it would be great if one could install just the media builders of different TI products/builds to a single computer, and "pump out" rescue disks from there.

    Our servers do not have CD-writers and so we have to temporary install the media builder on a different machine to get the CD.

    After many unsuccessful attempts to burn a rescue CD, I discovered in a post from Irina Shirikova (sp?) that the CD should be an UNFORMATTED blank disk. I had been attempting the process on a formatted blank disc.

    I waited until TI 8.0, build 826 asked for the CD and let the program close the burner drawer. The rescue disc was burned without further incident.

    I followed the instructions closely using an unformatted CD-R in my CD-R/CD-RW/DVD-RW drive and I get the message "Error burning the bootable CD-R/CD-RW" message immediately after pressing the "Proceed" button.

    Any ideaso_O

    This is on a Dell Optiplex 260 with an LG DVD-RW/CD-R/CD-RW drive installed.

    Hello RubixCube,

    Thank you for choosing Acronis Disk Backup Software.

    Here are some more traditional wokrarounds if you have problems creating Acronis Bootable CD:

    1. Uninstall any CD burning software temporarily and then create Acronis Bootable CD;

    2. If you use Windows XP please uncheck the "Enable Cd recording on this drive" box in the "Recording" tab (to get to this tab please right click on the CD-drive in "My computer" and choose "Properties")

    If the problem still persists please send your serial number for Acronis True Image to support@acronis.com and ask for the .ISO file to create Acronis Bootable CD. We will certainly help you with the solution.

    Thank you.
