Checked the NPE log. The good news is, it looks perfectly normal. The bad news is, we're stumped!

You said everything else is running normally in NOD32. Is there anything at all that is behaving oddly (sorry if you've already mentioned it earlier in the thread). Have you tried disabling any and all other programmes so that just NOD32 is running (plus your email client of course)?

No, everthing seems normal, IMON scans all the internet traffic, but seems to ignore Eudora. I have tried running NOD32 and Eudora only with minmal services running, but the result is the same. I guess we'll have to put this down to 'one of those things'. If Ihad the time I would try and do a complete re-install of windows, but I'm afraid I can't do that now. If I do get 'round to that I'll let you know whether that cures it. In the meantime I'll just live with it.

Anyway many thanks for all your efforts.

I downloaded a trial of Eudora 6.2.1 and NOD appends the message on my machine.
    XP Home SP2

There must be a glitch somewhere on your machine. [Glitches are hard to find :) ]

So no ideas on my problem? I wrote NOD32 support last night with whats going on. So far got two "Could you tell us why you think your email isn't being scanned?" Still stay Fileplanet/Gamespy has something to do with it. t's very odd that both times IMON stopped scanning was after going to Fileplanet.

Is NOD the only antivirus on your machine? What firewall do you use?
Do you receive mail using html or plain text? Are any spam filters present on your machine?

Yes NOD32 is the only AV I have. I am using WinXP SP2 firewall and a Linksys router.
I receive email using html and no spam filters.
Strange that out of all the AVs I've used over the years this is the only one thats given me a problem like this.

Well I just tested out Fileplanet again just to see. It stopped scanning once again. This time the last scanned file was http://fileplanet.com/dropoff.aspx
Notice that once again it's a aspx file.

I've never had this problem on any email program I tried with NOD. That doesn't help you though.
If NOD scans some but not all, that makes it an obscure problem.
If this were a common problem, using Outlook Express, this forum would be full of people wanting to know why aren't they getting the appended messages.
Spam filtering programs seem to be the biggest cause of this and need to be configured to use NOD.
In your case, The Maxx, I don't know the answer.

Well it's not just email though. It's like IMON stops scanning when this happens. If I go here it tells me the last file it scans, go to msn.com samething. But when the problem starts it no long does that, just says last file was whatever.aspx
Hopefully Eset writes back soon and has it fixed 100% I already told them about the aspx files so I hope they look into those types of files.

I don't believe it, I seem to have fixed it. After messing around a bit, I disabled secure sockets in Eudora and IMON does scan the email now.
What I don't understand is when or if that setting in Eudora changed, I believe it was always set to use secure sockets, but I could be wrong.

Abyway thanks to all of you.

Blackspear, since you brought this up, I will too as I have noticed a problem.

(Sorry to hijack the original poster, but I did not want to open yet another thread). ;)

OK I am using Mozilla Thunderbird as my client, Windows XP Pro SP2 (fresh install btw as in yesterday). :)

I have two accounts setup. One for my ISP and one for GMail. Messages from my ISP state they are scanned by NOD32. Any messages from GMail do not have the message.

NOTE: I have also noticed in the IMON scanner that Thunderbird does not show up under the Client Compatibility list.

Also note, that Thunderbird did show up for me there in the previous version of NOD32.

    Any thoughts peeps?

    Thanks as always,

    Jag

I don't want to sidetrack too much, but this might help other Eudora users:

it seems that Eudora's default is 'SSL enabled when available', it used to be 'never'. Eudora upgraded automatically the same day NOD32 upgraded, hence the problem. If they had happened on different days I would have spotted this much earlier.

I'm sorry to have caused all that confusion.
