e-gold message with apparent trojan not caught

Any .exe file as an email attachment is likely to be a worm/trojan/virus so automatically is suspect and should never be run

NOD will I am sure include detection as soon as possible, but all these take time to analyse and include dertections.

It is a downloader according to you post so they need to run it, see what it downloads and run those and see what they download, etc etc until they get a full package and include detections for the whole lot

I am sure you would rather they detect and fix the complete problem rather than just one part of it and miss the rest by only partially analysing the sample and causing more problems in the long run

 

Nod are reasoably quick and getting quicker at detecting and including new threats, especially when compared to some other AV's & Anti malware applications that still only update weekly or even longer regarless of the threats

Unfortuately one of the things that does slow down is having to spend a lot of time replying to posts like this rather than actually examining the files and building detections.

Now don't get me wrong, I am NOT saying don't post, but give them a chance and many downloaders etc or attachments that need user intervention to do their naughty deeds will be a lower priority for dealing with than something that will automatically infect a computer. That is just real lfe in the same way a Doctor will treat your worse injuries, like bleeding or breathing problemsin a accident & prevent you getting worse before he treats or deals with your broken leg or arm
