I'm trying to install the new version (3.4) of spyware blaster.

I first tried to uninstall the older version (3.3). I read and followed the uninstall instructions.

BUT... I can't delete the old spyware blaster exe file from the spyware folder.
I get an access denied message when I try. I've cleaned the registry of all spyware blaster entrys, removed the read only attribute etc..

    No luck..

The new version won't install until I get rid of this file.

    Can anyone help me pleaseo_O

    Thanks in advance.

    Hello Doug,

I doubt that you did. From reading your post, I'll bet you had spywareblaster.exe open while running the UNinstaller.

The best thing to do is re-install Spywareblaster 3.3
If you don't already have it, you can download it from here:
    http://www.download.com/SpywareBlaster/3000-8022_4-10372089.html?tag=lst-0-1

Try uninstalling Spywareblaster 3.3 again. This time, make sure all unnecessary applications are CLOSED. Including Spywareblaster, Antivirus & Firewall. Then, reboot your computer.

After your computer is back at your desktop, shut down Antivirus & Firewall again to run Spywareblaster 3.4 setup. Reboot again!

You should be good to go now.

Post back if you have any more problems or questions. Also, post back if this resolved your predicament so other users can benefit.

    Regards,

    You're right.
I did read and follow the instructions...BUT...
When I installed Spyware Blaster I set it to run at startup, so while I thought I had stopped it from running I really had not, hence it would no uninstall.

When I "remembered" that I had done that and actually turned it off...no problem it uninstalled and the upgade went smooth.

    Thanks for your reply.
