That IS quite the story. All the time it has been my belief that CROWS went to bed when it got dark! Hmmmmmmmmm!
I would imagine that the surprise that comes with the noise of the explosion would be inclined to make them jump!........ Cochise,
If the crows are the culprits, the authorities should send a team of expert crow hunters to shoot those crows down. In Singapore, the government sent a team of crow hunters to shoot and kill a lot of crows as there were too many crows flying about and the crows posed a annoyance/threat to the general public. From the gorund, the team of sharpshooters used rifles and shot down a lot of crows flying in the air.
That is so sad! What is the world coming to when it just shoots whatever is buggin' it? Everything in this world has a purpose, it is up to us to find out that purpose and use it to the Earth's advantage. Most birds keep the insect population under control, bats used to help with this, until Man got scared of them. Insects have a use, they also spread diseases, so yeah! Shoot the birds! We don't know something about a species or even people, or don't want to bother to learn - SO WE SHOOT THEM!?!?!? FREAKING SCARY SCI-FI STUFF!! (Except it isn't fiction! My head is going to fall off from shaking it!)
Most places just put up OWL stautes, the natural enemy of crows and such! Talk about overkill, talk about mental attitude adjustments by the gov! I'll quit now!
I guess that IS the way of the world, nowadays, huh, Crkit?? Duh! I thought the picture would come too! LOL!
I just moved to an area that is know for large large farms, I also just found out they put 25,000 lbs of pesticides on this area EVERY month!! Never have I lived in a place with so few birds and so MANY BUGS!!! Go Figure!?!? ~shaking concussed head~ (Not to mention the highest rate of childhood asthma!)
Wine, almonds, citrus fruits, vegetables, I just moved here!! It wasn't on the Visitor's Bureau of Information! Gee, wonder why?
This is one piece from the story............... In Australia, meanwhile, we're certain that toadologists are awaiting with eager anticipation the identification of the cause of the exploding German toad. Oz currently hosts 100 million unwelcome cane toads and there's nothing the Aussies would like more than to see a landscape littered with the corpses of eviscerated, exploded toads. BBuck would know these fellows a little better than me, but we would love some explosions our way. We are encouraged to run as many over as possible........ http://www.reckless.on.net/shanghai2002/Documentary-CaneToads.jpg
Yep! Know the canetoads well! Have a look at this funny little Aussie film....3mins...12Mb...about "Baz" the canetoad! http://media.cgnetworks.com/cgfilms/shorts/cane_toad/canetoad_512b.mov
