StarForce Technologies, a recognized expert in developing and applications of information security solutions, in cooperation with Agnitum has launched a security pack named "Computer Ambulance". The new offer includes Safe’n’Sec Version 1.0, StarForce Technologies’ innovative intrusion prevention software, together with Agnitum Outpost Firewall personal edition.

Hi SPC, It would be more interesting if you could possibly state your thoughts about this package as I guess you have tried or are trying it. :)

Maybe other users here have tried it and can offer a view?

I am using Outpost for some years now and I tried others. for me Outpost is a keeper and I was pleasantly suprised with Star-Force's Safe 'n Sec...still trying it :)

and if they manage to cooperate the two together I think we have a winner ;). processguard integrated into a firewall :D

    ...sounds good to me

They are having trouble getting SnS to run with Zone Alarm. Surprisingly I haven't heard back on this issue.

    .

I'm sorry, solarpowered candle, I don't see any mention of “Computer Ambulance” on the link you provided or any mention of OP FW. Where would this be? Is there a discounted price if you buy both together?

If I'm reading this right you have to pay them every year or uninstall their software! arrr...don't like that. To me that's one huge strike against this software. You can still use your latest version of OP Pro even if you don't renew your license every year.

I can see paying a yearly upgrade for AV protection but not for their core product without AV.

    Thanks,

    Jaws

    .

I Agree! But that's not the response I was looking for.

As matter of fact, I pay for all my shareware that I keep and try to dotate to program writers when I can. So I know, Good Software is worth the money.

I was just asking a question since I my be purchasing OP Pro in the near future. And if they have a bundle price even better for me.

But I can't see paying for a product, and if I'm happy with it the version I'm running, why should I have to remove it from my computer after a year. Just my opinion.

    Thanks,

    Jaws

I think Star-Force potentially has an excellent product, but their business practices seem to have the heavy hand that probably works in the copy protection business. Between the activation mess, and now this licensing term will not help them get into the security business. There are good alternatives.

I dont know what the deal will be with agnatium. Its not been mentioned on either site as yet. Whether one will need to uninstall safensec and outpost after the lisence expires or leave outpost running and uninstall safensec. But peter is right in that they are a little tight over some of their set up with the public being due to their involvement in the copy protection business. Some one mentioned here or in the prevx forum a few weeks ago that Prevx may be adding a firewall to their product . I wonder if this is a trend we shall see more of . ( perhaps Process guard would be cool with a firewall :) Its a russian company ( safensec) I gather, so perhaps its logical for them to deal with Agnatium.
Jaws the link I posted was to the info page but skips back , so if you look down on the right of that page to "news" there is a link "the power of two " which will take you to the news release.
There is no beta available to test as yet as far as I am aware .

I agree with Jaws. I can understand if there is a database that has to be updated once every week or so (AV) but not just when modules are updated. I don't beleive in subscription based license agreements  for static software, they are just trying to getting reoccuring revenue, just a very bad idea, my 2 cents. :D

I do agree with you. That is what is putting me off even trying the product, and I think there are alternatives to offer very similar protection with better conditions.
