4/19/2005 18:46:32 PM AMON file C:\WINDOWS\inf\biosinfo.inf INF/Delreg trojan error quarantining the object - - deleted

Is this a false positive? ... it wasn't found by TDS-3 or NOD32 during a scan - but when i scanned with A2 ... NOD32 came up with the warning.

I also have a "biosinfo.PNF" and one called "unknown.inf" in the same folder.

    Hi,
biosinfo.inf and unknown.inf are legit files ... there have been issues reported by people recently upgrading to XP about this file becoming corrupted ... did you recently upgrade?

Anyway i think it was probably an F/P but let some smarter members weigh in before you take it to the bank :D ... maybe someone from ESET?

No recent upgrade. I run XP with SP2 and all the updates.
hmmm ... Will i have ill effects from NOD32 deleting that file? Should i do a Restore before i shutdown or reboot?

It was a false positive. 1.1071 of the virus signature database fixes the issue.
