Whats the best protection for p2p use? I use NOD32 as of today.

Ok, I have 2 daughters and yes, they(we) download music all the time. I am using NOD32<--I just won today I'm proud to say)
Do I need anything else to go along with it?
Because I know they (we) are not going to stop downloading music, P2P. and I don't want to loose my computer because of it. I have heard some stories about people having problems with viruses downloading music.

Anytime you are downloading through P2P...you run the risk of getting a bad file (virus, trojan, etc..).

I have NOD32 installed along with Ewido and I never have any issues with viruses through P2P.

Always scan any files you download before opening them.

In my personal opinion (and I'm not trying to start a debate here ) NOD32 is the best AV you can get. I give KAV it's dues because it does kick a55, but is also a resource hog. For my money, it doesn't get any better than NOD32.

With AMON running, it will scan all files being written to the disk.

I am sorta new to NOD32. But doesn't AMON run by itself all the time?

I agree, NOD32 is the best !!

 

I too use Ewido in partnership with nod32 and they have worked well together and blocked most things so far, you may also want to consider running Microsoft Antispyware for those other nuiscances. The current beta is very stable and open to anyone.
