    Hi DCS,

The new version of PE is excellent! The location of the process is just the thing, as is it showing the connection resolved address and I do like the colour scheme.

So it's no quibble - no problem but raises a smile to report the error below.

(Thirty days hath September, April, June and November etc)

    Tony

    Hi Tony,

Are you sure your computer has the right date.
My PE registration is from 16 december and states 32 days.
I didn´t do the math but that seems plausible ;)

    Regards,

    Pieter

Yes, check your computer date/time first, if that's right then we'll get back to you on Monday to see what's going on. :)

    Enjoy the weekend,
    Wayne

Hi Tny H, Interesting, just checked mine since updating to 1.35. It was previously shown as non-expiring:

PS my time & date are correct :p

    Hi All,

I have checked my computer time settings and that appears to be ok. It is updated from - time.windows.com - on a regular basis. I run WinXPpro (FAT32) dualboot sys with Win98se on a Pent4 - 1.7 cpu.

If I divide 730846 by 365, I get just over 2002 (almost my age btw :))
I don't know if there is any clue in that.

    Run NDD etc. AOK

And your date setting is not yyyy-mm-dd in stead of dd-mm-yyyy ?Or yy in stead of yyyy ? (which could be changed in the control panel)

    Hi Jooske,

I checked the date settings and they appear to be in order.
short date is dd/MM/yyyy and long date is dd MMMM yyyy

The US system is different to the UK one of course - is it mm/dd/yyyy ?

Is that a possibility? I will play a bit tomorrow.

    nite nite now.

    Tony.

Short date generally is dd/mm/yy or mm/dd/yy and long yyyy
that's what i thought. Is it all right in your TDS if you scroll through the processes and modification dates etc? And if you look in PE in the main window is the date setting ok for the processes started? On my dutch system i see what i want to see, 20:48 17/01/2003 for instance and not the confusing 12:48 am which in my opinion should be 00:48, (wished i could configure this board for 24 hours display !)
nor 01/17/2003 or 03. Only 2003/01/17 i could accept as logical alternative in administrations.
Thought in Australia it was the same like in Europe in general, dd/mm/yyyy so if you have an USA english windows version tell it in the control panel (configuratie scherm) in the date settings to use it this way, which should solve the problem.
Looking forward to your experiences. As i configured this board on GMT time i see now your message at 12:48 am which i realize now is 00:48 and not in a few hours from now i'm replying.
Looking forward to yiour testing results. In your deviding by 365, did you take 365,25 for those 29 february days once in 4 years to get the current date?

:D :D Well It gets stranger & stranger - My PC clock is correct. I get the same readouts for time date etc as Jooske (Europe) but today I took another look at the about and it appears I have purchased PE 68 days ago :) Which is sort logical

Wasn't it a lifelong license for home users like TDs and WG?
    Companies might be different matter.

    Hi Pilli,

I can´t find anything about an expiry date. Only how many days ago I registered (and I guess that number is supposed to increase) ;)

Pieter, Now I think I remember, the last version was different as it showed licence: Non- expiring (in my case) Now it shows days since registering.
Wouldn't just one date such as Licenced on dd/mm/yy be adequate?

    From DiamondCS Website ~

"Licenses don't expire - you could be using Port Explorer in 10 or more years time! And Port Explorer is the only program of its kind you will ever need. "

I remember that because it was one of the deciding factors on my purchase :) (not that I am cheap ;) )

    Wink.

    Hi Jooske,
    Here is the info.

"Is it all right in your TDS if you scroll through the processes and modification dates etc?"

This seems to be ok. I attach an image below.

"And if you look in PE in the main window is the date setting ok for the processes started?"

Looking at the last column on the right, and this is working fine. Dates and times are correct here, seems to be a 24 hr clock read out.

" Thought in Australia it was the same like in Europe in general, dd/mm/yyyy so if you have an USA english windows version tell it in the control panel (configuratie scherm) in the date settings to use it this way, which should solve the problem. "

It is already configured in UK English i.e. dd/mm/yyyy

"Looking forward to your experiences. As i configured this board on GMT time i see now your message at 12:48 am which i realize now is 00:48 and not in a few hours from now i'm replying."

You will have to try for an update to WinXP Jooske ;) There are a million settings and you can have a 24hr clock

"Looking forward to yiour testing results. In your deviding by 365, did you take 365,25 for those 29 february days once in 4 years to get the current date?"

All I did was a quick sum in the calculator to see how many years - about - it was, I was supprised to see 2002 (which is the purchase year) and hey - nearly my age :D.

I did install the new version of PE on top of the old, but can't remember what the old 'about box' said.

I think the next step is to uninstall, clean up and reinstall, that will probably sort it out. I will wait until Jason comments before I do that in case he wants any further info.

This problem has been known for a while but I thought we had fixed it in early December when we noticed our registration program wasn't sending out the dates correctly. Port Explorer expects them to be in a dd-mm-yyyy format where as you can see, Tony H has his day in single digits, or d-mm-yyyy . We had emailed everyone who was affected in early December but we must have missed you Tony, a new key will be sent out soon fixing this.

On another issue with regard to the "Expiry" field in the about box which used to be there. I guess the BETA testers remember it because I think I removed it before we released 1.00 to the public. Now it doesnt show expiry unless there is an expiry date for your key, so nothing to worry about :) .

Anyone who buys Port Explorer has a key which won't expire, expiry is just to do with keys we send out to reviewers and other such people who don't buy it.

    Hi Jason,

I think I have to get out out of bed a bit earlier to catch you guys :)

I installed the new key file and unlock code and bingo - AOK in the about box.

Any how it gave us something to do over the weekend.

    Thanks a lot.
