    Hi,

I would like to say "no comment ".... But nothing worse, cannot identify any virus (no DB), a lot of false positives, false assertions from the marketing team, etc... At its best, could be used as a complement for a really AV product as antiscript, but I prefer scriptrap for that work :)

    Some info :

Look in the French NG fr.comp.securite.virus for more info.

    Rgds,

I didn't know Viguard was still around. I tried it years ago when they were marketing it in English as well as French.
I used an English version and it almost looked like they were onto something. Their marketing sounded believable, and in theory, you would like to think it would work.
None of the serious Professionals in the AV field seemed to take it serious though. Could not find one website that gave it enough attention to even add it to their comparitive testing, or they did not submit it.
Anyway, at that time I had a small library of fairly recent viruses in zipped format and decided to see if I could unzip and run some. IF, and I say IF I remember correctly, it caught about two out of ten or so.
I was sad because I liked the feel of it and the thought of not having to download and rely on signatures for the rest of time.
Others started saying they could not trust it also, and it seemed to just quietly die away.
It would be great if the technology behind the idea could be perfected some day, but I don't really see anti virus protection going in that direction.

    Hi All,

Straight Shooter if you want the english version and website it's:

    http://www.viguard.com/en/index.php

Don't know how good it is or how much I can trust this, maybe someone here has more experience. If anyone has tried it, please let us know, even in french, I don't mind translating for anyone who wants me too.

    Regards,
    Mike

  7. No updated signatures?

It seems to take the fun out of using anti virus software..

    Nah... I'll stay with NOD..

    Now there's having fun!!!
