    1. I opened my picture in Adobe Photoshop
    2. I set the foreground colour to white and the background to black. Those settings will interfere when applying the coloured pencil effect...

    3. I went to the Menu>Filters>Artistic Effects>Coloured Pencil.

    4. I applied these settings:

    Brush size: 2
    Brush detail: 6
    Paper opacity: 7

I got this....This is not too bad but I did not like the sharpness
of the black line that follows the edges of the face.... neither the dark colour under the eyes. :doubt:

So I used the "Dodge tool" in order to soften lines and lighten the dark areas. I clicked and draged over all the areas in the picture I wanted to lighten.

After I was finished, I took a brush and added a dark turquoise in the eyes. For the background, I used the gradient flood filter, dark turquoise for the foreground and black for the background.

    And I got this...

    TTFN! :)

Uguel, only you would take a beautiful woman and try to make her MORE!! Wow, she looks like a totally different person, doesn't she? That's amazing, I wouldn't have thought she would look so different??

That's great, Uguel, you are going 'great guns"! :) "On a roll." Better? I am glad you are finding time and place to do what you love and are so good at!

When you put a colored pencil effect, do you draw the lines? I haven't a clue?

OK! Now put her back, we don't need TWO Beyonce's!! :):) )LOL!!

    Have Fun!!

    Hey thanks,

I have lots of fun with these graphic programs!!! :)
    They are very addictive. :D

No, the colour pencil is a filter already implimented in both Photoshop
and Paint Shop Pro. In Paint Shop, you will find it in Effects> Art Media Effects>Colored Pencils. I would advise you to try different settings depending the effect you want to achieve. For faces or people, I usually set the intensity to low.

That's brilliant Uguel, perfect compromise between art and realism within the given topic.

    Excellent.

I wanted to try the different blending modes from the Layer Palette
in order to get familiar with them. I started off with a picture of
316x500 pixels that I intended to modify a little bit. :)

    Step 1

I decided to put it in black and white and keep just a little bit
of colour in it. So I went to Image>Color Adjustment>Desaturate
    ...the pic became black'n' white.

    Step 2

I duplicated my first layer and started to work on layer 2.

    Step 3

I went to the Menu again and clicked on Window>History.
    ...the History Palette opened.

    Step 4

I clicked the snapshot button down into the History Palette.

...so Photoshop put a copy of the current state of the image into
the Histry palette. I clicked on the left side of the snapshot to
select it as the History Brush source. ;)

    Step 5

    I clicked the History Brush.

    Step 6

I hit the History brush then I clicked and dragged inside the
the image and coloured only the parts I wanted...
Pixels from the previous snapshot will be painted into the image.

    Step 7

After I was finished with the History brush.
I went to the Layer Palette.
    I added a new Layer>Blending Modes> Linear Burn
    I set it to 30%

    Step 8

    I added a new layer.
I went to the layer Palette again....
    I added a new Layer>Blending Modes> Soft light
    I set it to 32%

    Step 9

    I went to Image> Adjustment>
    I meged all visible layers.

    Step 10

I corrected some areas by using the Clone Stamp and had to
fiddle a bit to do it right.... I also filled the background with
black. Then I cropped the pic.

    Step 11

I opened Photofiltre and added a thin frame to the pic.
I am sure that there are many other methods of achieving similar
    results, this is just one.

    TTFN! :)
