Ah! I discovered that PhotoFiltre is a separate program and downloaded it. The Hue changes it creates are definitely different than what PSP produces from the same picture. Thay are much smoother and better.

I'll explore this new program. Thanks.

Sometimes I'm ready to pull my hair out when something doesn't want to come out as I want it to be. o_O :D
Great tutorial for beginners Uguel. ;)

Right it is a different program, although it is freeware I found that
its filters can do wonders...plus, is very easy to use.
It would be good if I give the link again. :)

    You said...
...The Hue changes it creates are definitely different than what PSP produces from the same picture.

    You have a point here.
I also notice that each program, Paint Shop Pro, Photofitre, Photoshop
has its own way when rendering a picture. Even if the settings you apply
are exactly the same, you might get a different result in each of them... :)

Just started on the Sports theme, so here's a picture of our national tennis pride although a bit humoristic with the balls & bubbles effect. :D The frame was done with the same effect, but changed the appearance a bit.
    Who recognizes her? ;)

Thank you Spanner intheWorks, I am glad you like it! Although
the directions for using the Hue colours in Photofiltre were very short,
the tutorial of the dragon I did took me no less than 4 hours! :doubt:
While doing that I realised how easy it is to lose track
when you write explanations for new users. If you put
a lot of information, it might be confusing.... and if you
want to be too concise, you might forget a detail or explanation
that could matter for new users. :)

Hey, I saw your logo in post 406, it is very interesting... :)
I was wondering if you try applying a drop shadow
effect in order to make letters come out even more...?
You used yellow and I was thinking that a diffuse complimentary
colour as dark purple applied as a drop shadow migh look good too.
    Just a thought. ;)

    Thanks Eldar. :)

"...Sometimes I'm ready to pull my hair out when something doesn't want to come out as I want it to be."

Right, I see what you mean.
Especially when you been trying for hours to improve a pic and
no matter what you do, you just cannot get the result you want. :(

And what about the opposite...You been working on a pic for hours
and then you new anti-virus makes you computer freezes, shuts your
graphic program like a bat out of hell and you loose everything.... :'(
Once it did that for a picture I had been working for 4 hours then
my computer froze and I lost everything. I went completely ding dong
and since then I always save my picture every 5 minutes. ;)
Paint Shop Pro can be set to save your picture every
x minutes that you allow it to. If I remember well, you have to go to
Files>Preferences> Autosave settings and then you set
it to 5 minutes (or more). ;) It is a nice thing to do. :)

Too bad when that happens.
Reminds me of my beginning to learn PSP. I created a picture for the birth of my son and spent almost 6 hours on it. Applied an effect and all of a sudden PSP just freezes. No response anymore. :'(
It happened once, but I'm not taking any chances anymore. :)

Close, but it's Kim Clijsters. :D
She just won Indian Wells, a major tournament.
    Her website
Justine Henin is our other national tennis pride. ;)

Edit: corrected link, must have been sleeping.

    THANK YOU UGUEL!!!

That reads well and gives me the information I need - not alot of extras to confuse me. You are getting good at this teaching!!

It really makes a difference whether the teacher explains , illustrates, diagrams, however they do it, sometimes people learn visually, some learn by listening and some learn by doing - so to give information that wil help all types? That's impressive!!

Love your blue dragon in the moon! Can't wait to try out your tutorial, and see what evolves.

Eldar, I don't know how you did that! It is like a cartoon or a charactor, not the word I want, I always have trouble saying and spelling it, the exaggerated face drawings! Does that help! LOL!

Look forward to your sports pictures! I am going to try too, but still do the others, no skipping I decided, with some gentle hints from you all!! :p

Re: Paint Shop Pro & PhotoFiltre Talk

Just used the Effect Browser and choose Balls and Bubbles, but instead of selecting it, I choose modify. Afterwards it displays a window where you can change a lot of things on your picture and you'll see the immediate result. I'll try to make a manual, if I find the time Marja.
BTW It's no cartoon or character, it's an original picture where the Balls and Bubbles give you this look when finished. :D
Don't mind about the saying and spelling. I'm having these problems too when replying. Always have to carefully choose my words. :(
Thanks, looking forward to your tries too. The above effect is however easy to achieve. ;)

I think you meant a "caricature" right? ;)
I am looking forward to seeing your pics too Marja! :)

Wow, nice work Brad. You mirrorred it in PSP or still swapping?
Marvellous work and same must be said about the others. I absolutely love the one with the polar bears. :D
I don't have the talent to explain it like Uguel, but I made a picture of the steps to follow. I know how to do it, but explaining it is another matter. :(

It's real easy and takes about 15 to 20 minutes and maybe even less, once you know how.:)

First select your picture and follow the steps by clicking on the image below:

    Have fun. ;)

Off to make my other design. :D
