    Hi Uguel -

I'm glad you get what i was talking about. I Tried all kinds of things, but in the end I got to thinking, "hey, the guy is not the subject...just find some darker color nearby that will blend in and recolor the shirt, trying to make it seem like he was in the shadows. It sort of feels like cheating, but the solution the photographer took was to make the picture so dark you cannot even see the face and arm of the ball carrier.

    Hi Phatkid -

Actually, you will be surprised by what I consider the easiest way to do it, Because it takes many steps and sounds complicated and you are not familiar with the steps. (incidentally, was the rose part of the original picture or was it added later?). Anyway, when you remove part of a picture from the background (or erase all of the background leaving only the selection on a transparancy it is called: Extracting). Contrary to popular believe, extracting is very very easy. Look up a the tool bar where it says filter and choose extraction. it will take some practice befor you learn the tricks but the steps are:

1-use the highlighter pen and make an outline around your selection. the big advantage over lassooing is that you do not have to hold the mouse button and do the whole outline at once. do it little by little.

2-use the eraser to erase any big mistakes in the outline.

3-select the bucket tool and pour into your selection

4-click okay, and now all that is left is your selection (the rose)

5-now just past the rose over the one in the picture that you turned black and white.

it sounds hard but i will see how long it takes me...

Okay, it took about 20 minutes but i had to capture the original, open photoshop find the football player i had saved before, and then change my mind what i was going to do a dozen times. It would take the average person maybe 5 minutes. I do everything slow.

P.S. - The rose is darker shade because I like it that way!

Here I wanted to show how you can take any picture and edit it so that it seems like it has a totally different environment. I call this, environment handling...

This is just an example so please bear with me - it was made on a stormy night with a bottle of whisky, Nov 12, 1973. So don't ask me how I got it ;)

This was made in 5 minutes, hence the ignored cabling. They were quite a problem to delete properly in such a short space of time - I was tired and needed to go to bed, but you all know what it's like when you think of something you feel passionate about in that instant! Impulsiveness, it's a killer

Anyway, with enough time spend on a picture like this - it can be done properly. See what you can come up with, it's a brilliant feeling when you see your creations come to life.

That looks nice in black and white too! :)

...It was quite a challenge to have the middle player come out.
There might be stg that can be done to improve it....but right
    it won't be easy. :doubt:

I used the magic wand tool to select the areas that I wanted to cut. I only use the pen tool when I have to cut something in such detail, and yes I would have used it in this instance but I did not have enough time as I said.

BigBuck, it's very simple actually. All I did was add three layers (the tornado, the main london bridge and the tornado again, but upside-down and on the bottom for the reflection), edit the hue and saturation, edit the curves and edit the colour balance. I also used the blur tool to blur the edges of the bridge buildings, and I used the magic wand to select big parts of the main layer that I wished to delete for the background (the sky).

If you want a step by step tutorial, just step up and say so :)

to tell the truth it looked like an arrangement of connected
parts in a machine. o_O Only when I opened it and resized it
I could see that it was the inside of a computer.

Hey, I tried a new tutorial and it worked pretty well
It is not to long to do and not too difficult either.
if you follow it carefully you will get a Rap diamond
    effect to your letters. :)

Ok, one made with 5 filters. :)
One filter for the background and 4 for all other colour spots I added.
The coloured "clouds" were made with the ellipse tool, tolerance set
to 30% and the opacity set to 22% for the light ones, and up to 40%
for the dark ones. I uploaded a pink candy texture for the letters
and filled the letters and some of the background with it.
    Still lots to learn!

Uguel, you were right. It is in fact the inside of my computer! I thought it might look cool, and i wondered if it would be recognizable.

Let's face it, it did not look cool at all! however, you should see the cooling fan I just installed for my video card.

    HandsOff!
