Please uninstall your current RegDefend version before installing this one, and make sure you reboot. You cannot install over the top of an existing installation.

    What is RegDefend?
RegDefend is a kernel based registry protection system, designed to use as few resources as possible. Instead of polling the registry looking for changes, RegDefend intercepts the changes before they occur. RegDefend comes installed to protect registry autostarts and some special registry keys, custom rules can also be added.

New features and changes since the last version :-
    [v1.150]
-Added ability for RegDefend to still protect system when the GUI is closed down
-Added more information to the Ask User dialog when something tries to change a value
-When RegDefend is running in one account, and you fast user switch to another account, it will automatically block any "ask user" requests to stop the system locking up waiting for the user to respond to the request
    -added sorting to log window

So, 3 days into trial of RD I did that, uninstalled, reinstalled - and now I'm told that trial has expired! Huh??

When I was trialing RegDefend, the same thing happened to me when I installed a newer version. I had been using it for only a week. It continued to work however, even though it said the trial period had expired. I just went ahead and purchased it, so I don't know if it would have continued working until the 14 day trial period was over.

Did you guys by any chance "clear" your registry entries relating to RegDefend before installing the newest? If so that probably conflicted with the date checking.

Is there any way round this for my RegDefend trial? Or is it "Game Over"?

Well in the future you should know that most software store some trial information in the registry, so cleaning it out like you have can invalidate your trial. Send me an email and I'll get the problem worked out for you.

The silly thing was that I first of all installed the new version over the top of the old & it worked fine. Then I read your note:

"Please uninstall your current RegDefend version before installing this one, and make sure you reboot. You cannot install over the top of an existing installation."

& thought that I should make sure I cleaned it out properly in case I had buggered something up by installing over the top.

I am a serious trialler of the prog, & already own licences for TDS3, Process Guard, Crypto Suite & Worm Guard. I will purchase RegDefend also if it runs OK on my set-up for a couple of weeks. Anyway I will send you an email.

Yep, by uninstall I only meant "The RegDefend uninstaller" I should make this clear for future releases. :)

You had the right idea though trying to be cautious. :)
