    Hello forum members,
Recently discovered what looks to be a nice security program -see message title. It checks file integrity and registry for any tampering or changes. It looks like a very nice program with lots of options and bells/whistles. So, I'm wondering -has anyone here every tried this? If so, what was your impression?
    Thanks

    Hi,

I know this product but i wasn't interesting on testing it.
I just think that it's not really necessary for a home PC.
And only the pro version is interesting, but a little bit expensive!

Strong "sandboxes" like Tiny, AbtrusionProtector, Viguard or ProcessGuard could prevent important coruption or infection of critical files.

On the next link, you'll find an overview of many integrity checkers:

Prevx would actually be a better choice for protecting files.. those are more behavior blockers than sandboxes, really.

For integrity checking on a home machine, you may want to check out Sentinel (http://www.runtimeware.com) Xintegrity Pro looks nice, but I doubt the home user would benefit from most of it's andvanced options, and (like kareldjag said) it is pretty expensive. The non Pro version looks pretty basic.. not as many options as Sentinel and still more expensive.

If all you want is to KNOW what's changed, you might check out Fingerprint (free) http://www.majorgeeks.com/download4388.html

    Kareldjag and Notok,
Thankyou very much for the links and helpful advice. So far, I'm getting a lot of access violations in my trial of xintegrity. Will try out sentinel and fingerprint to see what they do and how efficiently the perform.
