Basics with disk director and OS Selector

Here I am again. Some basics for installing and using the products.
1/ Should I use DD to create my partitions before I start installing other OS's and Acronis OS Selector.
2/ Any limit as to where the OS Sel partition should be
3/ When I'm going to hide a partition which files should be changeable and which should not, similar with the Folders-enable or not.
4/ Can OS Sel see 6 hd's?
5/ Limits on the size of the partitions holding the OS's I use Win 2K

Finally, has anyone found the earlier version, poss 256 or something a little easier to work with when using Win 2000, latest build seems to be doing things with my mind as well as my comps

Thank you for your interest in Acronis Disk Director Suite (http://www.acronis.com/homecomputing/products/diskdirector/).

You may partition your drive with Acronis Disk Director Suite for it seems more convinient because it has user friendly graphical interface. However it is not necessary since when you install OS it asks you where you want it to install and if you indicate an unallocated space you may create partition of any size you wish.

You may store the Acronis OS Selector partition anywhere you wish and we recommend that this partition should be at least 50 Mb. Acronis OS Selector is able to see any number of disks.

Could you please explain a little more clearer what you mean by "changeable files"?

there are various settings withing OS Sel that refer to writing the MBR, making the files and the folders changeable etc. Setting up 3 primary partitions with W2K int ehm I have worked out, at last, but when I start into disk2 things get screwed up, I want 6 partitions, all independant for various tasks and to avoid software conflicts, when i go to disk 2, the W2K installation knocks out the partitions on disk 1, which I may be able to get back, don't know yet, so can I use disk2 like this or does everything have to be on disk 1. My partition for OS sel is 500 M, should be enough I'd have thought.

 

found out how to do it, got my 6 independant w2k's up and running, just takes time and time and time

 

ok how did you do it? what seetings did you use for protecting folders, hiding partitions, etc. ?
