Okay I bought a new piece of software called Ghostsurf. It allows me to surf the net anonymously using the Proxy cascade method (to mask my ip address) and it also kills popups/popunders and will also block the sending of personal information over the net. However one of the problems I now have is being able to read my email anonymously from yahoo at home. Yahoo will not let me logon with the privacy settings set at "block personal information" I guess if I want to read my yahoo mail I can do it from the computer lab at school ;) If their are any tips from users of this forum regarding ghostsurf Please let me know.

for those interested in test driving www.tenebril.com/products

    Thanks for your time,
    CB

    Hello,

Good app but a bit tricky : check the anonymity of the proxies you select : some are not anonymous at all and you will see the proxy IP AND you own.
Don't forget to tick send all traffic through the hub or you are not anonymous at all :)

As for your webmail, you may select to allow accepting cookies or the needed
info for some sites. (btw Yahoomail uses webbugs...) RTF(abulous:)M

I think I commented this app here a few weeks or months ago.

    Rgds,

Thanks Jack for the quick reply and yes I do have the box ticked for using the anonymous proxies and yes I do use the test connection function (results done by privacy.net) to see if the connection is anon before I venture out onto the web.

    Cheers,
    CB ;)

also always calculate you hub speed and delete the Broken one
and use the scheduler To automatic update your hub daily &
as It mentioned above not all proxy lists are anonymous
but it will be on the new build of Ghost-surf
BTW:they have the best tech support & customer service

  5. Block Anonymous Proxies

You can check whether or not your proxy is truly anonymous by going to www.countrycheck.com. On the home page it will show you want country you appear to be coming from. If that country is different to the country you are in then you are using an open proxy (also called a anonymous ip).

    Hope that this helps.

    Re: Block Anonymous Proxies

By double clicking on the tray icon, it opens the website list. Just Right click on the yahoo related websites and click "Direct Connection" So that all other connections are through anonymous hubs, but Yahoo and Hotmail is Direct. It also states on their help website that if you come across pages that will NOT load, just do the same thing. Make sure when you see the "List of websites" you click "most recently accessed" so that recently used sites will be at the top. If found using Opera With GhostSurf let me access yahoo and hotmail email without changing anonymous settings, just a thought/
