Has anyone checked this out? I guess it's basically just like VT Uploader both now inside the browser?

Yes, I use it since many years, mainly for scanning URLs, very convenient.
I haven't used the new VT Augment functionality.

By the way, since VT4Browsers version 4.0, there were three updates, latest is version 4.0.3.
In version 4.0.2 a bug was fixed, when opening an image in Firefox (on Kubuntu 20.04), and choosing to print, not only the image was printed but also a VT icon and some text.
I don't know what else was fixed in the three updates, there were no new release notes.

Oh OK, I don't really need site scanning. But for automatically scanning downloaded files it might come in handy. On the other hand, VT Uploader works just fine. But this one seems to have a couple of more features like you mentioned.

    VT4Browsers version 5.0.0 is released.
It has a new name: VT4Browsers + Google TI

For the general user base, the VT4Browsers experience remains the same.
However, for users with a valid Google Threat Intelligence API key, a new investigation experience is unlocked.

    VT4Browsers + Google TI documentation:

    I submitted a bug report:
In Firefox, the context menu option "Scan selected link" no longer works with the new VT4Browsers + Google TI 5.0, nor does the option "Scan current page."
I disabled Firefox Enhanced Tracking Protection and uBlock Origin, but that didn't make any difference.

In previous cases, the VirusTotal Team was quick to respond.
I expect the VirusTotal Team to respond to my bug report next Monday.
    EDIT
    Monday, November 17,
VirusTotal support replied: passed this to the dev team for review.
    EDIT
    Saturday, November 22.
There was no new version released yet this week.
Earlier this week, I reverted the VT4Browsers Firefox add-on to version 4.0.9 and disabled automatic updates.
With VT4Browsers 4.0.9, the "Scan selected link" and "Scan current page" options work perfectly.

VT4Browsers is mainly to scan URLs ("Scan selected link") and webpages ("Scan current page"), and not to scan files.

VirusTotal mentions VirusTotalUploader by SamuelTulach as an alternative.
Bud did you notice VirusTotal still offers vtuploader2.2.exe? (Under "Download the App here") Have you tried if this might still work on Windows 11?
    https://docs.virustotal.com/docs/desktop-apps
Softpedia mentions vtuploader2.2.exe as Beta, for some reason. Softpedia also says: Runs on: Windows All.

OK I see, then it's not interesting to me.
I believe there was a problem with the new VirusTotalUploader, but I may have to check again. The old one stopped working months ago, quite weird.
