I've switched to Zorin OS. Works well for me.

I tried it after seeing lots of raves. Meh. Been using Mint for so long it's hard to change. But I am going to try CachyOS soon!

Yes, Win 8.1 is a bit more snappy than Win 10. About Win Explorer, somehow it's slow to sort files, it still sometimes opens in a resized window for no reason, and it refuses to remember columsize and which columns should be displayed.

The specs look nice, but what will this Mac Mini cost?

I never used Vista and was Win 8 really that bad compared to Win 8.1? What I don't like about Win 10 is the boatload of services (svchost.exe) that are loaded, I hope it hasn't become worse in Win 11.

I have had a bad experience with ExplorerPatcher on Win 10, will never use it again. But I'm sure there are plenty of other tools to tweak the taskbar and startmenu.

I'll let you know after I buy it. The Military Store has a 10%+ discount on Apple products. Also the Navy Military Store runs a "Scratch Card Discount" for 5% to 25% off on top of the already 10%+. I don't know right now the percentage I'll get off on the Scratch Card. I hit 25% many times buying at the Military Store. (Fingers Crossed I hit again big)

Although ExplorerPatcher will install and work on Windows 10, as both Windows 10 and 11 share the same code base, it was actually developed solely for Windows 11. It recreates or reactivates the code that was removed from Windows 11 to give a similar look and feel of Windows 10. Using EP on Windows 10, where that code is already present, is not recommended, and is just asking for trouble.

I have been using EP since I upgraded to Windows 11 two years ago, and it has not given me a single issue.

OK I see, that might have explained why it blocked Windows Explorer (explorer.exe) from loading.

OK I see, I thought you already knew the price.
