This is the script I was trying to run:

    But, this was the result.

So, any advice would be appreciated. I am the administrator, but I don't seem to have full control of my system files/folders.

I am trying this in the early hours of the morning, when I should be sleeping. Hence the numerous edits that I made to my original post. So back to bed, for now.

    Needs SPECS. 24H2 or 25H2

The net forums i frequent are piling up with ISSUES lately. Also did you reboot a time or two and retry it? What script? The WEB is LOADED with RESET Scripts for Updates ERRORS and many ARE DIFFERENT coded.

I been fishing through a ton of them myself

On Win 10, admins have full access to C:\Windows\SoftwareDistribution directory. Things might have changed permission-wise in Win 11.

I just tried rename/change it to .old but as you can see, unsuccessful. I don't understand what is causing this.

I been glitched by a MS Cumulative pair that MS states cannot be uninstalled without a long duration same old crap they peddle about sfc/scannow and Dism Restore Health etc which seems their common canned response to so many 11 users experiencing issue after issue. I spent 3 days wasting effort to determine and pinpoint it, It IS a foul buggy combo cumulative update that fouled up regular good functioning operation for months until this. I used a backup image and caught it ON THAT ONE, as the culprit, JUST AS IT was set to PENDING INSTALL. I immediately shut off ALL update services and dropped to Safe Mode and deleted that garbage malfunction collection from SOFTWARE DISTRIBUTION FOLDER OF ABOUT 4 gb. Upon back into GUI after safe mode i used one of my OWN programs with a reliable SYS Driver and like MS likes to do to us, i changed permissions DENIED at them to READ-ONLY to prevent them trying to redownload that trash update. It's LOCKED now and with re-enabled UPDATES BACK ON AGAIN. Until i can get a useful Group Policy to prevent that dual cumulative from fudging up my good running 11 machine again with another try they would push, that was my CAPTURE & STOP.

They have the worse coders ever anymore made worse by trying to rush a buggy update and cost users all sorts of downtown. I WILL figure out and watch more closely from now since their quality control is low standards. Ridiculous outfit MS Windows Updates Dept not capable of making things hum. Safely OR AT LEAST HAVE EACH UPDATE REGARDLESS UNINSTALLABLE.
