AOL discontinues its dial-up internet, and we're just surprised they even offered it in 2025

    I still have my trusty Netcomm Roadster II 56 USB Modem in a cupboard.
    It's even Y2K compliant. :geek:

    I still have my Hayes 1200 external! First modem I bought, though my dad paid for half. And I have a collection of CDs somewhere... I know at one time I had an AOL disc in there. Not that I ever used AOL but I do remember the never ending promotional discs in the mail (until, of course, they ended).

    Memories of good, adventurous times, without concerns of malware, privacy, neverending ads, firewalls, and such that make modern surfing a PITA.

    Or if they understand that 56Kb isn't the same as 56KB. I remember the days of telling people no, 56Kb is 7KB.
