I really have to try this browser again. Any sites or recommendations for customizing it? It just has so many settings and its a bit of a daunting task to set them up. Thanks!

It's even a more daunting task with every update...

example: right click to open link in new background tab
Used to be in right click menu - and had joined the muscle memory list
Now it requires you to navigate into another menu.

example: Show Closed Tabs bin has been removed from the panel and hidden in a new "Tabs" menu - which I have no need for.

Previously it was the show favorites panel and the homepage link that vanished.
BUT, these can all be fixed in the Settings and will remain in place - UNLESS you need to re-install Vivaldi.
    Then everything vanishes.
Nevertheless, it's my browser of choice and I can't see myself ever changing.

IMHO, if you start with Vivaldi, make a list of all your tweeks in Notepad to simplify and later problems.
You should just Google for that because any hints you get here will all just be the personal preferences of the individual users - LOL - as per my rant above.

Do a search on YouTube, you will find a couple of videos about the capabilities.

I also see a couple of things that I'm not happy about, I'm not a big fan of nested menus and hiding stuff. I'm not sure yet about the new Tab Button, I guess this might be an improvement?

But I'm still using an older version of Vivaldi, it works just fine. I might switch to Vivaldi 7.6, but I'm always afraid of new bugs that are introduced, and eventually uBlock Origin might not work anymore.

edge is still supporting mv2. chome is a complete different thing because under google control, edge is not, vivaldi, brave also not.
anyhow uBoL is pretty nice, adgurd mv3 also (mv2 still working in edge).
    i dont see any problems.

Roger that. Thanks Rasheed. Do you happen to know if you can use any GPO admx files for its management? Have not been able to find much of anything online after searching.

I'm sorry what do you mean with this? I have no experience with GPO, is this needed to manage browsers?

I have actually made a topic on the Vivaldi forum about this issue. In contrary to Opera, Firefox and Brave, Vivaldi refuses to give an update about if they will continue to support MV2 or not. The problem is that Vivaldi's built-in adblocker has not been improved, and uBlock Lite is pretty much a joke to me.

With that I mean that it doesn't offer the advanced features from uBlock Origin, like the ability to see which scripts are blocked or loaded. Also, no element picker, to quickly block annoying stuff that isn't blocked by the ad/tracking filters.

How difficult would it be to copy the GUI of uBlock Origin or Ghostery? I mean, Vivaldi is meant for power users. At the moment it seems that they expect users to use a crippled version of uBlock, Ghostery or Adblock Plus, once MV2 is killed.

I use Vivaldi Adblock with uBlockOrigin Lite, and it works very well.

It depends on what type of websites you visit.

I sometimes have to block or unblock scripts in order to solve certain problems on websites. This can't be done with uBlock Lite and Vivaldi's adblocker. And the element blocker of uBlock Lite doesn't actually remember any rules, how dumb is this?

    It's a real pain.
I've installed Edge as a backup to use when I have to use a website where this happens.

I didn't understand your comment about Edge?

I'm talking about uBlock's element picker, which I use all of the time to block annoying stuff permanently. But uBlock Lite doesn't remember any of those rules, so Gorhill might as well remove this feature. I wonder if anyone has brought this to his attention? I hope it's not some weird limitation caused by MV3.
