    Hi to all.
I don't think it only applies to "Strict".
I use "Custom", and the new features are available.

    P.S.

With "Strict", third-party cookies are enabled.

    Hi Sampei Nihira,
I think you mean the ETP flexible exception list, as mentioned in the release notes.
Thanks for reporting it is not for ETP Strict mode only, but for Custom mode as well.
I guessed it would be, but Firefox 142.0 snap version isn't available yet, so I'll see it later.

Do you have any Mozilla sources clearly stating that?
And I mean clearly. I always found Mozilla's definitions of what the different ETP modes do to be rather fuzzy, not fully clear to me. In different articles, Mozilla seems to swap the terms "cross-site cookies" and "third-party cookies." Mozilla doesn't seem to use strict definitions for the two, or at least Mozilla doesn't show it uses strict definitions.
Because of this, I use Custom mode and assume my settings are the same as in Strict mode or a bit stricter than Strict mode.

Yesterday, Firefox 142.0 snap version was available.

After updating, I took a look at the new exception option for ETP Strict and Custom modes.
I won't enable this new setting to allow Firefox to automatically apply exceptions. I make custom strict settings, I do not want Firefox to automatically apply exceptions to my settings.

Also in Privacy & Security settings, I noticed Autofill, to save and fill payment methods, was now enabled. I was unpleasantly surprised by the fact this setting was automatically enabled. I disabled the setting.

Finally, in "Home" settings, I noticed under Firefox Home Content there was now automatically enabled "Support Firefox" Sponsored shortcuts. I don't use the Firefox Home screen, I use custom settings for the Home page, and I use blank pages for new tabs, so I will never see any Firefox Home content, but nevertheless I disabled the new "Support Firefox" Sponsored shortcuts.

"sponsored" is not new this version, but exceptions in "privacy"
i think that mozilla received some complaints about strong or custom mode to implement this option.
if you do not encounter issues with this option then its recommended to leave it enabled.

Firefox 142.0 built using Slackware's build script. The stock package is 140.0.2esr.
I am using Standard right now.I am relying on uBlock Origin for the rest.

Just checked, noticed the same, turned it off.According to the Learn more link, it's been around since version 135. I am certain if I had see this enabled in the past I would have turned it off. There is no way I want Firefox to manage this.

I noticed this too. I know I had previously turned it off. I use Home, set New Windows and Tabs to Firefox Home. Home is customized to only show two rows of Short Cuts and those are all pinned so Firefox can't add new ones. Just for kicks I turned on Support Firefox and Sponsored shortcuts, nothing. Guess my country is not made it to the big time yet based on the Find out how. :D

I guess it was one of those features that was released gradually, not for all users and countries at the same time.

I don't remember if it was there before. If it was, I had tuned it off, like you did. If you turned it off before, it is not good it was turned on again.

I just switched over to FF from Chrome. Anyone know if Autofill should fill in my email address for logins? The only way I can get it to do so is to save email and passwords to the password manager. I have my email saved is Saved Addresses, and Saved Form Info is unticked in Clear History When FF Closes. Can't figure out what is the problem.

    Hi Phil,
I do not know. I don't use password management or autofill.
What I do know is that what Firefox calls "Autofill" is to save and fill payment methods.
Username and password management is under "Passwords."
To "Fill usernames and passwords automatically," that box must be selected.
But as I don't use that option myself, I don't know if it fills email addresses automatically.

Okay, I see what you're saying. I do have some usernames (email) and passwords saved and it autofills them. But some passwords I don't want stored on my device, I just want to autofill the email. But in the Password Manager you can't just have a username, you have to have both username and password. Chrome always remembers my email and fills it automatically if I click in the box or type the first letter. I'm starting think maybe FF just can't do that. Maybe it can only autofill the email if it's a web form, not a login.

    Hi Phil,
I'm sorry, I cannot tell you, as I have no experience with Firefox username and password management.
I hope other Firefox users can tell you if Firefox can do what you want or whether you need something else for that.
