Color me skeptical, but methinks I'll hover this thread for quite a while before I dip my toes in the pool to check the water.
Perhaps arguably the number of exceptions are open for debate when an aggressive Windows "Optimizer" doesn't range between a toenail clipped to the painful quick or at the other extreme an outright BSOD amputation of the right foot.
Always good to keep those toes intact. Sure, a laughably obtuse analogy. But the principle holds. As always, experiment with downloads under the questionably obsolete protection of Shadow Defender or questionably more reliable Deep Freeze

The WINsxs Windows Folder scanner DOES NOT COMPLETE. The circle blue progress ring disappears on it too. Ya have to UNCHECK THAT ONE. It's always been a tough chestnut to get right anyway. The rest is fine. Oh well she's BETA. Other Features so far so good. found

CLEANMGR+ found at MajorGeeks handles WinSxS folder just fine. If a user so desires to reduce Gb's/Gobs of files in there.
