What does the "Reach out!" link on the website supposed to do?



It doesn't work for me.

 

Splash Screen still appearing on my system with it turned off

 

The link got removed somehow, I fixed it. Just points to the contact page.

That is just a mail to link to open your default email program and have the email address already put in. Those types of links only work if you have a default email client set.

I could have swore I fixed that! I should had doubled checked last night. I will get it fixed and get an update out.

 

V2.7.2 is released. I kept all the same info since it was just a one line fix.
The loading of the checkbox to show the splash screen was after loading the splash, I just had to move it to before. So that is fixed now

I need some feedback. Right now since release SirCleaner has only been downloaded a little over 1700 times. Its going to be hard to get noticed with a 100 different cleaners out there. I will submit it to more download sites, Im so surprised how many download sites won't even respond to me, but I will keep trying.

Out of the 1700 downloads I have had 36 sales. Not a bad ratio I think. But is $19.95 still too high of a cost for the pro features?
I had it at $24.95 and lowered it once. Would $14.95 be a better price or even lower like $12 ($1 a month) ? Sales at a lower price is still drastically better than no sales at all! I seen a new drive cleaner got released in June and they want $9.99 a month!

But the real thing is how do I get the program to stand out among the others? I know I want more pro features added, Just have to come up with pro features that are wanted and useful.

 

Change from 1 and 5 PCs to 1 - 3 and 6. Think ablout it and you will realize it makes more sense. Many cleaners do almost what SC is doing, for free, so lower the price, and - or, get more features that makes it stick out. Maybe also add a tweak section with settings for Windows. A hint, take a look at Revo registry cleaner for that.

To get more coverage, get an abundance of sites to review it which will make it known. Give the reviewers free licenses for 2-3 years.

In the book world it is said that you sell 1 book for every 25-30 add that makes it known. So this with reviews and giving away licenses for that has to go on for while. And, i visit giveaway sites daily and have never seen a giveaway for SC anywhere.Use them.

If your license is annual then $12 would probably be a better price. At least until it builds a reputation. I don't love the default yellow color scheme. It looks like spyware. It needs some reviews as suggested. If I hadn't seen it discussed on this site I wouldn't have given it a second look. All that said it is a good program and I hope you find a way to get it some exposure. If you could get MajorGeeks or BetaNews to review it that would help.

 

Agreed. I thought the default colors were going to be changed as well?

 

I actually also think that the gui is unappealing. You need a more modern light look that is inviting and pleasent for the eye as default, and the present look as an extra. Maybe call it - Shane legacy.

 

The default is no long the yellow, I made it blue, if you go to settings and then colors you can select default from the drop down menu. See what you think of those colors.

As for majorgeeks, my program will most likely never be on there. Jim and Tim at majorgeeks where my business partners when I had tweaking, after Tim died a part of Jim did as well and he has never been the same. Now he doesnt return my calls and I am no longer important to him. When I asked him if he would list it, he said not without paying because ads don't pay anything any more.

We talked about me making a custom version to sell on majorgeeks but its been months since he has talked to me.

That is a good question, as right now I figured people could use the contact me on the website, but instead I could make a new contact form with more fields like program name, link and such like that and have it labeled as submit program to be added on the site! That way people will know clearly that's how they can submit a program to be added.

 

With a direct link from within the program to that site.

About the program: to raise interest, besides making it known, price has to be in pair with other programs that is similar to it, and, it needs a feature that sticks out in general compared to those other programs. That feature can be the "make and break point" for wanting to try it out, or even buy it. But it has to be free. At least during trial. And again, take a look at other programs gui to get ideas to change the outlook of yours. Dont be stuck in how YOU want it to look like, have the starting point of that it should look inviting. Now your starting point is the same as from Tweaking. A look you seems to like much.

Another question: compact browser data base, how much, in average, could that slim down a browser?

The program - HiBit Uninstaller, adds a new item in the crap cleaner automaticly for any new browser in use. According to my experience so for. Floorp as i newly started using was not a cleaning item in HiBit, after installing Floorp, the post was added to HiBit.
